Around the Big East

DePaul leads in second half with young unknown players stepping up. No on there though.

I mentioned this in the RPI thread but if Providence doesn't come back against Marquette and Depaul holds on it'll be 8 games 8 home wins in the Big East. Season doesn't start until someone wins on the road.

That could be a tough loss for Providence. Have to win those games, especially in what is looking like a down year for Marquette.

In each of our last 3 games the announcers have spoken at length about how awfully dressed this coach is.

I'm loving the Errol Flynn avatar but I've got a new one for you:

One thing about Nova ... you can always count on Jay Wright to be dressed like a gentleman.

lol I love this stuff, Des. Dress up in a suit and dress shoes to stand on a basketball floor and coach. Be unable to think or act intelligently.. don't think for yourself. It's really funny. Yep, Jay is well-dressed… he's the best dressed sheep in the flock. Baaaaaaaa…..

Why in the world would you, or anyone else for that matter, care about what announcers say about the way a coach is dressed? Now you're clutching at straws in your criticism of Lavin.

Yes, but now Providence is 0-3 on the road. Nova's only previous road game was against LaSalle so how "road" was it. Xavier was Georgetown's first road game. FWIW Butler is 1-2 on the road, only win against Indiana State. This is why road wins are so big in the RPI.

@LAVINWOOD: First Bracketology of the season by @ESPNLunardi is officially out. We are currently a 7 seed (playing Georgia).http://t.co/m1PaGBkX6z

@LAVINWOOD: Also: @ESPNLunardi has 7 out of 10 Big East teams in his first Bracketology. Deepest conference in the nation from top to bottom. #sjubb

@NJHoopsHaven: Heady times for Seton Hall: Pirates sweep Big East weekly honors: Player of Week (Sterling Gibbs) & Rookie of Week (Khadeen Carrington).

I like the prodigal son image. Is their a message there?

No, just symbolic of SL welcoming back Jordan. Hopefully in a week or so I won't have one depicting money changers being thrown out by JC.

If you wanted to go symbolic, could have also used an image of black Jesus lol

Geez, if Jordan's the prodigal son, only Pointer is the brother who toiled loyally in the vineyard all those years.

@BEandBeyond: 1/6 Spreads:

Marquette at Georgetown (-8)
Providence at Butler (-5)
Villanova (-4.5) at St. John's

Fellow poster Weatherman astutely told me last week SH will show how good it is by their road performances. First test;

@John_Fanta: FINAL -- #19 Seton Hall continues road struggles in 69-58 loss to Xavier

Rough spot for the Pirates tonight. On the road, against a good team that was coming off a BAAAAD loss.

Not an upset. I think Xavier was favored by 7 and a half.

Nothing shocking.

Very hard to win on the road in conference play (except for us of course).

SH held their home court without their dynamic freshman. They'll be right there in the thick of things at the end.
