:angry: With nine seconds remaining in double overtime and Marquette with a one point lead, bonehead #1 (Thomas) takes the out of bounds pass and hugs the ball (remember Hooper). Obviously hoping to get fouled, instead the refs call a held ball - Providence ball. The Friars have possession under their basket. This is where bonehead #2 comes in, D. Wilson jumps for the outer bounds pass and collides with Cotton. Game over as he makes both foul shots. This point guard stinks, he can't shoot fouls and has no jump shot. His totals for the game, double overtime mind you, were 1 point and 3 assists. I guess you kind of figured I was hoping Providence would lose. It was still a great game to watch. BTW, Mayo had 26 points and was clutch throughout.

So at this point, going into Saturday:

A Win - #5 seed, and play providence

A Loss - #6 seed, and play Xavier


Definitely more comfortable against providence, let's get this win Saturday.

I disagree, I think we would be better off playing Xavier. Tough to beat a team 3 times in a season.

Providence is about to secure 3rd place, as Xavier is about to go down to 'Nova.

So, if we win Saturday, then we'll face Xavier next week.

But Providence wins the tiebreaker with Xavier, if I'm correct.

By the way, looks like Xavier isn't giving up.
 
If Villanova wins, they clinch the Big East regular season title and the #1 seed for the BET. Not much incentive for them in their final game against a desperate Georgetown team. Why do I feel like we're going to be the #7 seed?
 
If we wind up in a three way tie at 10-8 with Xavier and Providence, does anyone know how the tie-breakers shake out?

Villanova is still playing for seeding. This isn't like professional sports when teams rest up or do not go as hard when spots and berths are locked up.

If 'Nova play their cards right, then they could find themselves playing for a #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. So, that is their incentive when Saturday rolls around.
