Around the Big East

Xavier got conservative too early and allowed Cin to make a run but it wasn't enough. Butler now completely embarrassing St. Louis. Up 37 in second half. StL still only has 16 points.

Seton Hall beats Louisville on the road! Rodriguez, Delgado & Carrington 3 great 4 year players. Rodriguez, in particular, has gotten better every year. Big East has 3 really good teams this year who can play with anyone.

Seton Hall over Louisville, 77-75 on a Rodriguez drive with seven seconds to go. Very nice road win for the BE.

Not my natural inclination to root for the Hall,-- it's a rarity -- but I find it's a lot easier to pull for them when they play an ACC team, especially the sleazy Cardinals.

The current AP rankings are:

#4 Nova
#21 Xavier
#25 Creighton
RV #26 Seton Hall

Tomorrow, Creighton may fall out. But Xavier and Seton Hall have a combined FOUR Top 25 wins during the past week. Going to be fun to see how much they improve. Possibly 3 BE teams in the top 15?

Difficult for me to root for the Hall, but have always rooted for BE teams out of conference and it's very sweet for any BE team to edge Louisville!

While I find it nearly impossible to root for Syracuse or UConn, I have no problem wishing the Hall well when they are not playing SJU. A metro area Catholic school program just like us and their old coach Bill Raftery, one of my favorite announcers and an Al McGuire like figure, has always been kind to the Johnnies.

As an FYI/reminder, ExCuse and UConnvicts play Tuesday night (12/5) at MSG in Jimmy V Classic. What a mess of a game! 'Nova and Gonzaga the other game.

New AP Poll

Seton Hall No. 19, Xavier No. 13 & Villanova ranked No. 4.

Arizona State #16 btw

And per Zach B' how nuts is this?

Georgetown's six opponents: Jacksonville, Mount St. Mary's, Maryland Eastern Shore, Richmond, Maine and Coppin State. Combined record is 11-38. The Hoyas got 4 AP votes.

Doug Doughty of the Roanoke Times (semi-local) picked Georgetown 22nd in his ballot. Nobody else gave them a vote.

Lol at Georgetown getting votes. They don’t have a top 200 win and they’re getting votes. While we already have three top 100 wins and not a mention.

Well, only two top 100 wins technically (Oregon St. is in the 180s), but UCF is top 50, and Georgetown still does not come close to that.

Also, our only loss was to Missouri, who's currently 3rd in the RPI, so that really shouldn't cost us too much (at this point, anyway).
