Sad but I have very little pity for them. Back when the BE started they were a doormat and were fortunate to be in the BE. Hall made some solid decisions coaching wise and they had some success. Took plenty of swipes at us. Now we’ve come full circle and they suck worse than we did with Norm.

All that being said, it’s best for all of us that they stay competitive. A complete shit show is not good for them, for us, or for the conference.

Some success?
They went to the national championship game with poor facilities , no MCAAs, just very good coaching and a bunch of local NYC 4 star kids , some of whom spurned us and good local Jersey kids who stayed home and played together for 4 years. And they played tough physical D under PJ Carlisimo. They won a few BE Championships and danced far more than we have in the last 25 years.

I could care less if they are good or the doormat of the league. I've never viewed them as a rival like Gtown, Nova, Uconn, etc.

I like Sha, and hope he lands elsewhere. I'll root for Sha to come out OK. That's it.

Remember this is the same place that hired Tiny Morton to steal Whitehead from us at the 11th hour, which basically ended the Steve Lavin era. When I hear their fans poke at us for hiring Pitino with his past, I laugh given their hiring of Morton and Antigua to save Willard's job.

They also recruited Sanders after he committed to us and convinced him to flip. In retrospect, that was a nothing-burger, but at the time it felt significant with where we were and how much the prior staff was on Sanders.

Make no mistake, that fan base roots against us more than any other team in the league. The amount of attention and coverage we got in down years compared to the lack they got when Willard had them rolling drives them insane. I have friends who are non-Johnnies haters but root for the Hall, and they tell me their message board continually has threads about Pitino, St. John's and Repole. Even before this year. It's wild.

Of course, what has happened to Syracuse basketball after leaving the BE for football is sad. Even if I dislike them.

This Providence/Creighton game is on fire.
 
Kaulkbrenner just complained vociferously about not being fouled. Geez. I am surprised he even knows what a foul is, since he is never called for one.

Providence down by 1 at the half. The Friars are a very talented team. My opinion is that they are "under" coached.

I've worked for both Cal and Stanford. When I was at Cal they literally could not stop talking shit about Stanford. At Stanford, I never hear a peep about Cal. :ROFLMAO:
