Almost like Rick's not the only coach that talks to players via the media
Local reporter said Rick is like “gold” to media v “Coach speak” stuff. Although some may feel a few comments about players are better said in private, no doubt the good outweighs the bad by a wide margin and both these guys generate a ton of publicity for their programs and the Big East.

By any objective standards, this UConn team is not in the class of the last two. Karaban was a wonderful piece when playing with NBA talent, but he’s not shown himself to be able to be the go to guy. Hurley’s berating of refs is not getting them an edge because they’re slow on D and foul constantly. They’ll be better when McNeely returns, but don’t think they take the BE regular season this year.

Karaban has been a huge disappointment as has the st marys kid. With that being said, I do believe they will be firing on all cylinders when it matters and until they are knocked out, I still think they are 3peating.
I put Villanova vs. Georgetown on late. Under one minute, up three, Villanova almost ran away from whoever had the ball for Georgetown, they hit the uncontested layup, and lead went to one. Villanova missed, and when the announcers said Villanova had three fouls to give I couldn't believe it. They wouldn't use one instead of conceding a layup? They had chances to foul from half court on during that possession.
Then they just burned the fouls immediately, for no real reason.
The thought process is hard to follow with them.
