Around the Big East

He has Dixon carrying them. #9 offense because either Dixon scores or passes out of the double team but 166th defense. He is a god awful coach

I’d cool it on the Neptune praise but that’s just me. Nova devolved into complete 1on1 chuck mode in the second half. Neptune sat and watched as UConn went on multiple runs. I don’t think the guys a good coach. But hey he has year 5 Eric Dixon and a decent supporting cast. Worse coaches have made the tournament I suppose

24 pts 7 asts, 4 rebs and 3 steals for Wusu in the Halls win. Also had 5 things listed as 3ptm??
Haha, I went to the Hall game tonight and DAW in the first half had a drive where he attempted a layup where he hit the underside of the rim. SHU then got an off rebound and passed it back to DAW who decided not to take an open layup and inexplicably passed it behind his back someone behind the 3 pt line.

I turned to my brother and said ‘I miss that in queens’

Seriously though SHu came back from 2 big deficits and Wusu played great.

Funny how Nova HC was on the hot seat and for now has them playing well as opposed to PC HC deemed a real comer last year, but w/o his star has a struggling team and pressure seems to be getting to him.

Admire Sha being able to keep his head down, consistently adhere to his standards in face of a program not equipped to compete in NIL/ Portal era. I hope he lands on his feet somewhere where it is a more even playing field, the guy is old school and a good coach.

Winning in the Big East is hard. As it should be. We all know that.

This is why I cannot get crazy over how many Quad wins SJU has at the moment, or what some three letter acronym ranks them.

The team has put itself in a nice position by slogging through games. The wins all count and all they can do is just win the next game and everything will work itself out.

I am a broken record, but I firmly believe this team has nowhere near peaked yet. Like last year, they will be a handful come late February and into March. But unlike last year, this time we will see “St. John’s” emblazoned in a Selection Sunday bracket.

I also think this team is getting more national attention and hopefully drawing more passive fans living in or around NYC. I experienced that with the Hardy led squad, Pitt game at MSG exhibit one.

My two brother-in-laws got themselves tickets to a STJ game without my encouragement for Christmas. Both aren't alumnus, from Queens, and only have loose ties. Buzz definitely there.

Logical unless Bryce does not want to, but he should.

Kim English asked about a potential redshirt for Bryce Hopkins:

"That is absolutely on the table."

Heal up and get 200 miles south. Great idea.

Also, if he redshirts & the new rule of five years of eligibility comes into play, he would have two years left right?
