Around the Big East

UCONN not being #1 was mind boggling at the time. Big kudos to Matta and Halloway.

Does not surprise me that Butler and the Hall are exceeding expectations. Noted Butler as a potential sleeper team early on. Always felt the Hall was interesting because that backcourt is huge and Holloway is excellent. Also thought Nova was probably too high based on the Neptune Factor.

Did NOT expect Georgetown to be as bad as it is under Cooley. And did not think Sean Miller, as good as he is (and he's awesome) would be able to keep Xavier as afloat as he has.

Still basketball left to play but ultimately the top 3 are still the top 3, DePaul is still woeful, and everyone else in between except for Georgetown isn't separated by all that much

I enjoy watching Uconn. They have great players, a great coach and play great team basketball. I think they will win another natty this year.
Very well could. Hurley could always recruit, but must say his portal performance is also amazing, incorporating the right guys w/o disrupting team chemistry. He is also going to have a flow of kids entering NBA consistently, obviously a recruiting plus.

Hurley can recruit but he also can coach, they play excellent team ball on both sides of the court.

Lost opportunity exhibit to date

Only 2 teams in ncaa with more Quad 1 losses than SJU: DePaul with 9 and Louisville with 8. (There are a handful with 7.) The opportunities have been there.

On the flipside, SJU is 5-1 in Quad 2 and the WVU game seems likely to be Quad 2 based on their trajectory. 6-1 in Quad 2 will be hard to keep out of the tournament, and there are not many (if any) bubble teams will match SJU's overall Quad 1/2 record.

Butler is a very good team. It's going to be a massive challenge to beat them at their place.

As an aside, watching Posh, I still don't understand why he's seemingly plateaued since his sophomore year. Love that kid, but really expected him to develop into more.

Weird then that he had to cheat, and destroy other careers while his was merely put on pause.
LOL because no other coach (especially not one in Queens cough cough) cheated and threw his assistants under the bus.

Not vouching for his character in any way. But he is tremendous basketball coach

Meh, never made a final 4 at arizona despite cheating + having a f*** ton of talent.

Even after he got exposed for cheating, he brought in some stacked top 5 recruiting classes to arizona and straight up missed the tournament

Good coach, but some cracks in that resume for sure
