Around the Big East

So UConn, Marquette and Creighton all lose their openers, as you would expect.

To the many posters in this site and so called experts who had Nova buried etc. you need to understand that pre season is pre season and the real “dogs” show up during conference play. Nova has probably the best back court in the league. Like St John’s, they just had to get it together. A win against Creighton on the road is a good start.

This Nova team hasn’t played to their potential this year but I still think this roster has a high ceiling if they can put it all together

A ton of talent, but team desperately misses the classic Nova guard that would pull everything together (Brunson, the good Arch, Booth, etc)
Knicks could lend them a classic Villanova guard!

I still say Nova will finish middle of the pack. Nothing against Eric Dixon who always puts up numbers against Creighton. Don’t see them going far with him being their go to guy. Gritty win by them coming back from 14 down, but still not a believer in Neptune.

Agree & really need a healthy Moore every night to contend. Love overachieving guys like Dixon though

I am not sure anyone has predicted that Nova will finish first in the Big East but a solid 3rd or 4th is not out of the question. There is too much talent and experience on the roster to be a bottom half team.

They were getting their asses kicked for 32 minutes. Props for the road dub but I'm not impressed.

Not sure anyone predicted bottom half team either.

So you’re saying that the Johnnies should have no problem at Creighton?

All good points but , you forgot Colin Gillespie as a key player for Nova …And , Booth ? I don’t remember him as a Villanova player of recent vintage ? When did he play ?

I’m not trying to contradict you or anything but, just don’t recall a Booth on Nova . And , as much as we , as Redmen fans disliked Gillespie , he was a great guard for the Cats.

And ,destroyed us on so many occasions .
