Around the Big East

No quit in M’Q, battled back down stretch, down 1 w 45 seconds left. Pressure got them back in it when down 10

Marquette represented themselves well. While only beating an unranked UCLA team by 2, and lucky to have won, they came back strong in their last two games. While not unbeatable, they will present a challenge to Pitinos boys for sure.

I haven’t been this excited for a big east season since Marcus in 2002. I can’t fully explain it. And at my age (49) it’s borderline embarrassing.

I never dreamed that the conference would get back to this level. To see cuse and bc peddling in mediocrity and honesty second class citizenship within their own conference …well it brings a tear to my eye.

In many cases when a coach gets gently pushed out of one high major job so he can take another job that is not perceived to be on the same level it won't always end up well for a coach.

But at least right now Shaka Smart landing in Milwaukee after leaving Austin looks like a tremendous move by him. He is flourishing at Marquette.
Yes, and then there is a coach who flourished at Marquette and then crapped out at both Indiana and Georgia - Tom Crean
