Reliability of rapid test is much lower. Asymptomatic transmission is real. Whose family member are you willing to sacrifice in the name of expediency?
We don’t even test all people in the hospitals, only symptomatic ones that have COVID-like disease process. Can’t treat every asymptomatic person in the world with quarantining for half a month. Rapid testing is more than sufficient in this sphere but even standard testing only takes 2-3 days.

Common misconception about the 14-day pause for college basketball is teams can just return to normal afterwards. Players who test positive need to pass a series of tests before returning to even practice. Basically, it's a three-week layoff.

Iona won't be playing games against until Dec. 1 at the earliest. Expect Seton Hall to be later than that.

Seton Hall-Winthrop on Nov 25 officially off, source confirms. Both teams dealing with a pause. #shbb @slrussell first. Louisville game remains on for now.

Pipe dream. Almost 200,000 people are testing positive everyday. If this season does kick-off on 11/25, I anticipate it will be paused shortly thereafter.

Unfortunately I believe you are correct. Decisions in respect of The virus are fluid and the virus is just not going in the right direction in many a country. Not only is it going in the wrong way but the numbers are going drastically up. I could see them
Letting in 10% crowds spread out over arenas but 25% does not permit safe social distancing.

It is not in St. John’s hands at this time but the State and NYC. Not happening.

How does DePaul get such good prospects yet suck so bad, year after year?

Terrible coaching and player development.

So then just acquiring four and five stars doesn't guarantee an elite program? Interesting. ;)

Ackerman also said a bubble is still on the table. Might make more sense in February when students are back on campus. League would prefer travel to home sites, but if virus dictates, they are willing and ready to shift.
