Underwhelming but in fairness a new regime scrambling for ooc games
I can’t even begin to imagine how much damage would have been done if he had, I don’t know, say twice as long as that. The havoc wrought would have been exponential.Yikes this is Nova's MTE? During a time when teams are dropping out of Atlantis in favor of bigger NIL ones, it's shocking that Nova is hosting such a poor MTE. The same team that won the National Championship twice in the past decade and carried this conference after realignment.
Glad Willard is there now, the damage done in just 3 years under Neptune is incredible.

Did you forget to log out of Mulllin’s Revenge handle? He’s not that good and will certainly earn more staying at Yukon.
Probably meant not that good to make it in NBA which is different than saying he is not that good in college. Not every starting member of a NC team makes it in NBA.Did you forget to log out of Mulllin’s Revenge handle?
To say Karaban is not that good is one of the most ridiculous things ever posted on here. He was a starter on two national championship teams — one that is the running for best college team of all-time.
Given what Norm wrought in about twice I don’t have to imagine.I can’t even begin to imagine how much damage would have been done if he had, I don’t know, say twice as long as that. The havoc wrought would have been exponential.
Hot take but I think Karaban has a chance to be a better pro than college player. People's perceptions of him on our side is ridiculous. He'll have to work on some things, but can easily see him being a rotation player for 10+ years on a winning team. Be a bigger, better shooting, better defending Max Strus.Did you forget to log out of Mulllin’s Revenge handle?

No surprise at all.Yikes this is Nova's MTE? During a time when teams are dropping out of Atlantis in favor of bigger NIL ones, it's shocking that Nova is hosting such a poor MTE. Just not the very top lol.I think this is in agreement with what you are getting at, but as a Pennsylvanian with business colleagues among the Nova Nation, I can tell you that you really don’t need to worry about Villanova. They will be back at the top of the league within three years. And it will be a good thing for the conference and SJU.
No surprise at all.
Williard is looking for wins his first season, improvement from prior years to show he is on the right path.
Maybe, but I think it says more about Neptune's inability to land a solid MTE in what would've been his fourth year. Typically these MTEs are scheduled far in advance, we've known about St. John's in the upcoming Vegas tournament since June 2024. Nova wouldn't have had many options this late regardless of coach.
As for Willard it'd make sense to not want something too difficult this year, but I'm guessing he wanted something better than a few terrible mid and low majors that will do absolutely nothing for their resume. In the NIL era teams are starting to expect results immediately, so I'd be annoyed as a Nova fan.
It has nothing to do with Neptune. There were other things at play.
Jesus no one said he was Coach K but people acting like his 3 years at Villanova were the equivalent of Patrick Ewing's last 2 years at Georgetown is just absurd.
They played one of the most prestigious MTE's in 2023 Atlantis and beat Memphis and North Carolina with him as coach.
Villanova has plenty of cache with or without Neptune.
The idea of 3 straight NIT caliber years for Nova absolutely put them in a situation where the school is now the equivalent of DePaul is just nonsense...
Huh? Bit of an overreaction to my post, along with a lot of assumptions. Never compared them to DePaul, they just landed a top recruit.
Not even sure where to start, from the first sentence that next year's MTE had "nothing to do with Neptune." He had a year to land one but didn't. I don't know the inner workings of Nova so maybe this was their plan all along, but I doubt it.
Regardless just going to agree to disagree here. Neptune is gone now so it's not a topic I really care to debate, and he seems like a nice guy so I have nothing against him personally. I root for Nova every year, including under Neptune, so hoping for a quick turnaround under Willard.
Nova fans are 90% classy end of storyI’ve never enjoyed college basketball more than when Nova beat UNC for Jay’s first title. As everyone here knows, they stamped the new big east with legitimacy. Gave us a path.
Yes some of their fans have become slightly unbearable, but you can always enjoy a game with your family against them. Unlike the state school from Connecticut. I’m really looking forward to a time when both Nova and SJU are good at the same time. Would be so great for the conference to have NYC v Philly in the top 20 mix at the same time.
