Around the Big East 19/20

I'd run to sign up for a top 5 finish considering that we have played in either the 8/9 or 7/10 BET game for the last 5 years.

I get your point but remember that Gill won Big East Defensive Player of the Year. He came up huge for them in a few games offensively and especially in conference play. Think he averaged 3.5 blocks too.

I feel like McKnight was really underrated though as well and was a steadying force. Aiken who is coming in is good, but he’s more of a spark plug and scorer. I think they lose a ton without Powell obviously, and Gill who you had to game-plan a bit for as well.

Especially since now there is a 6/11 game too. Not playing the first night of the BET would be one of many very positive potential steps.

not playing Wednesday is my goal for us every year. like you mentioned it is now harder to avoid Wednesday, you gotta go top 5. If we do that we probably dance as long as we don't botch non conference.

I’m not really figuring out why the Hall is near the top? They lose Powell, Gill and McKnight. Those are 3 pretty irreplaceable guys. Mamu, Cale, Obiago and the Harvard transfer and whomever else doesn’t seem enough to put them that high. Maybe I’m missing something.[/quote]

I agree with you guys. I've begrudgingly gained respect for Willard in the same way I have for Cooley but Seton Hall lost so much talent from last season. Bryce Aiken is very good but he's been significantly held back by injuries in each of the last 3-seasons. I want to see him play a full season before I agree his impact will be as big as some of the pundits seem to believe. Mamu is a very good Big East player but I think he's more of a Robin than a Batman (may also be the case with LJ if I'm being fair) Obviously still plenty of uncertainty on these rosters as well as in the world but here's how I see it now...

Respect is a strong word. He blatantly hired coached and paid players and everybody knows he did it. He’s a good coach and will do what it takes. I respect his desire to win and that’s it.

And this should also go without saying, but he got extremely lucky this year that a player like Myles Powell decided to return for his senior year. That single handedly altered the whole season and even the recruiting for the future due to the success they had this year. Most players of Myles caliber have not been staying the full 4 years.

I'm aware of Willard hiring coaches (Tiny) to get players but hadn't heard that he pays. Not saying that it isn't true just that I was unaware of it.

Everybody knew he jumped in the ring with Whitehead and hired Tiny. In addition to Antigua’s shady dealings. I’m not saying everybody we hired was innocent but that Whitehead saga was all over the place.

Hiring Tiny as an Assistant Coach with Whitehead following him was not then nor is it now a violation of any rule. He did what some on this Board wanted Lavin to do and to a similar extent, Anderson with Gorman.

UConn’s staff will virtually host Top-rated JUCO guard El Ellis for his second virtual visit tomorrow, he told @Stockrisers. The first one came on April 20th.

20+ programs involved for the Tallahassee CC guard.

The visit will be Thursday, now has been confirmed. Danny Hurley’s recruiting efforts have been top-notch.

It wasn't. But knowing that Andy Miller and others were paying Whitehead and/or Tiny through various channels is one. And everyone knows that is what happened. He didn't care or looked the other way because he was going to get fired if he didn't do that. And that's before you get into Antigua.

I’d be pissed as a parent if my kid went from Gtown to a much lesser university. Get that education kid.
