Around the Big East 19/20
Glad they are doing the right thing if he misses 10 games so be it .He can not take any chances since he will I think be a high draft pick
He is at best a mid-2nd round pick. A 6'1 guard scoring big in college does not always translate well to the NBA where you are guarded by 6'6 guards that are more athletic and highly skilled. The NBA is the elite of the elite...ask Ponds what he thinks

You are WAY OVEREVALUATING Powell's pro potential. It would not surprise me if he goes undrafted like Ponds

And I am not the only person that feels that way.

Which is why I was somewhat surprised that he decided to come back for his senior year. IMO, there's very little he can do to rise his stock, this year. I guess if he can carry them to a final four, like Kemba Walker (who took it all the way), it could help, but Powell is, and always will be, an undersized guard. That's a problem for NBA teams in general, especially since he's not Allen Iverson defensively.

Maybe he realized that and is doing it for the degree he'll need to have so he can coach immediately after returning to the states in 2033.

Per SJU press release

QUEENS, N.Y. (Nov. 11, 2019) – After leading the St. John’s men’s basketball team to a pair of 30-point wins to open the season, Mustapha Heron has been named to the first BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll of the year, it was announced on Monday morning by the league office.

That’s the exact reason Mustapha came back.

That probably was part of the reason Heron came back, but I also think he wanted to get healthy, first and foremost.

That knee injury definitely limited him last year, but while it hurt the team down the stretch, it may have had a long-term benefit WRT this year.

DePaul looking killer right now, and not killer for DePaul. They’re gonna be a good team I think. Lots of tools. Crushing Iowa by almost 30 in the first half. They finally have talent and are looking quite together.

Tough to read them. I watched them the other day, and they were their usual undisciplined, helter skelter team they’ve been for years. They’re shooting lights out tonight,, but can’t imagine that will last. Just hoping they keep executing and get this win for the BE.

Good point. This is my first look at them. My first look they look great but maybe I caught em on fire..

Wow, that was some half. Yeah, the game against FDU the other day was a struggle. Charlie Moore played really well, and Reed was pretty good in 2nd half, but rest of team was shaky. Not tonight. Everyone is on, and you’re right, they look very good.

If anyone advised Moore to leave Cal to go to Kansas, they should be shot. Nearly derailed the kid's promising college career.

Final score: DePaul beat iowa 93-78
DePaul was picked tenth in the Big East by most "experts"
Looks like the Big East is going to be a war this season
Not a weak team in the pack - anybody can beat anybody on any given night
Gonna be a lot of fun to watch. Can't wait for league season to start!!
Holy **** DePaul. Finally they break through, and in a huge way!
But...but...but the analytics only gave them an 11% chance to win and yet they won by 15 points! How can that possibly be?:silly:

In fairness, DePaul has lost this type of game at least 89% of the time over the past 5+ years. First P5 road win since 2013! Hoping they are for real this year.
