Still undefeated, and everyone has won by more than 10 points (which NET caps at). Perfect start to the season.

All the games have been blowouts, with the exception of Georgetown's scare tonight against Mt. St. Mary's. Mt. St. Mary's led 46-27 with 17:11 remaining in the second. ESPN gave them 94.9% odds of winning at that point, but fortunately Georgetown was able to come back and won by 13.

That ESPN percentage to win the game is a waste. So they had a 95%chance to win the game at that point but not only did they lose but they lost by 13 points! ESPN's % of that happening was probably 0.

Thoughts from UConn fans on St. John's, the Big East, and FS1:

First post:

Watching St John’s vs Mercer. I have to admit, I love being able to watch the Big East again and feel like part of it. SJU looks well coached. Mike Anderson will succeed there like he has everywhere else.

Another bonus, FS1 picture quality is great. I swear ESPN dumbs down the quality for AAC broadcasts.

You’re being kind only calling it a “waste”.

Wait until they watch the picture quality on FS2 games. It's like your under water or something. Awful.

You know I love stats ;)

But these probabilities and Ken Poms are the biggest crock of you know what in the world to me.

I love stats too, as an excuse to get together with buddies and BS. As predictors of outcome they are useless, every one of them.

Can confirm @NJHoopsHaven that St Peter’s coach Shaheen Holloway suspended beginning tonight. Fallout from transfer tampering when he was at Seton Hall. #shbb

Ken Pom is quite good. Especially as the season goes on. He had us ranked correctly the entire season last year.

Interesting note: We finished 88th on Ken Pom last year. Right now we are 84 after the Mercer win.

Rankings are rankings.
Probability to win games for the entire season is ridiculous. Too many factors.

Yup. Injuries, “exit velocity” for transfers, etc :)

KenPom Rankings (based on their projections and first games of the season):
#8 Villanova
#15 Marquette
#18 Xavier
#19 Seton Hall
#21 Providence
#25 Butler
#34 Creighton
#59 Georgetown
#71 UConn
#76 DePaul
#84 St. John's

Wow! While I think 6 top 25 teams is a bit much (we have 3 Top 25 AP teams), just imagine if these rankings are anywhere close to being accurate. Their Big East rankings last year weren't very favorable towards the conference (best team was #30 Villanova and only TWO top 50 teams), so this says a lot about our returning talent and incoming recruits.

DePaul plays their third game tomorrow before most teams play their second. The reason? Leitao was suspended 3 games, and so they added the D2 game (vs Chicago yesterday) so Leitao wouldn't miss their fourth game @ Iowa on Monday.

Yeah... I can't decide if it's smart or dumb (pissing off the NCAA further). It's clever, at least.

There's no way his coaching acumen is so great that they couldn't bear to not have him for Iowa.
