Around College Basketball

If Rutgers loses to Nebraska does our NET go down a point because we played them preseason ? I really need to know now because I'm pacing my house worrying because I forgot to get my ambien refill today
You know there are a lot more important things to be worried about in this world today! Well maybe one or two.

Big Ten upset, winless Minnesota (0-6) beats unbeaten #20 Michigan (5-0) in OT on Dawson Garcia prayer

#18 Memphis about to fall to Temple as well

I saw most of the game and then had to get on a family zoom and missed the last 10 minutes of regulation and the OT.

Conference winless Minnesota beats a team at or near the top the league standings as 10.5 point home dogs. Not a fan of the similarities of that and the game in Newark on Saturday night

"St. John’s: Rick Pitino’s team was ranked earlier this season, so it’s not like the Red Storm are flying completely under the radar. But we’re also probably not talking about the Johnnies enough as a Big East contender. Pitino’s team has the eighth-best adjusted defensive efficiency in the country, per KenPom, and is notably fifth amongst all high-majors in block rate. The offense is a work in progress — can somebody, anybody, please make some shots? — but the defense is stout enough to mostly compensate. Marquette is still the clear Big East front-runner, but would you want to play a defensive-oriented Pitino team in March?"

I lost track of him after he transferred from Marquette. His numbers are not that bad.

If he had never left Marquette, he would be a definite 1st round draft choice and Marquette would be the favorite for the NCAA Championship. To some players, NIL money is Fool's Gold.

He is in the middle of his 3rd season in his home state of Minnesota where he has played and played well for the last three seasons. While he did not do nearly well in his one year at UNC (only time in his career he averaged under double digits in scoring) but I don’t know how much better his stats would be if he remained at Marquette (interestingly, his rebounding average has been consistent his entire career). Better program yes, but would he be a better player?

What is Minnesota's record? Last night was their first Big 10 win. At Marquette he would have been surrounded by better players. Why not continue in a better program with better coaching?
