Arkansas may have played one of the better 10 minutes of basketball I’ve seen in a long time.
I think that's the power of NIL now...don't think it's that assured someone chooses the NBA. The 8th overall pick gets around 10 mill combined his first two seasons. 7 mill for say 2 years and getting to play a college schedule and be in college seems like a pretty sweet deal. It's got to be a one year deal. He is a one and done.
I won't make it that long. Much more of this, I'm gone. There are reasons I don't watch the NBA.Crazy they are already up to 7 mil a year for kids in college. Within 10 years, these kids will be getting 20 or 30 mill a year to play college hoops. Unreal.
But if you’re a star, you want to get to that second contract as soon as possible. I don’t think $5-$10 would keep someone like cooper flag, ace Bailey, Dylan Harper or Khaman Malauch in school. They want to get their rookie contract done ASAP and then sign a max.I think that's the power of NIL now...don't think it's that assured someone chooses the NBA. He’s got an NIL deal supposedly with Red Bull. BYU has a no caffeine policy. Wonder how that will work out.I think that's the power of NIL now...don't think it's that assured someone chooses the NBA. I think this is will be our wheel house... as long as we keep our boosters happy... it seems that our NIL will be "healthy"...I do think however the ability to make 800k will keep fringe second rounders and players that could go overseas in school 4 years. In fact it’s probably why Kadary is playing at St. John’s and not in the Euroleague.
The narrative going around is the owner of the Utah Jazz is pulling the strings. Billionaire Ryan Smith, alma mater is of course BYU. The Jazz are projected to have a top 3 pick in next years draft. Playing his one and done college year in Provo is just to get him acclimated to the area. He’s got an NIL deal supposedly with Red Bull. BYU has a no caffeine policy. Wonder how that will work out.
What car they giving him? Batmobile??Other thing I should've said is that -- sometimes -- the dollar amount publicized is the value of the NIL deal but not necessarily the money the player is getting. For example, they could be getting a leased car with a value of 500k, plus the free tuition room + board, & paying rent on a 5k per month apartment, and that "equals" 800k in NIL.
I mean, yeah, but it probably won't be street legal. What car they giving him? Batmobile??
This is what I sacrifice for only watching BIG EAST games.Arkansas may have played one of the better 10 minutes of basketball I’ve seen in a long time.
100% agreed!I think this is will be our wheel house... as long as we keep our boosters happy... it seems that our NIL will be "healthy"...
While it would have been nice/fun to land a Boogie or Ian Jax... i am perfectly fine landing/keeping those older guys from going to Europe.
Similar to Michael Jackson and his brother’s deal with Pepsi to finance their Victory Tour. Michael (who didn’t drink soda) never spoke the name Pepsi, nor was he pictured drinking the soda (and if a can had to be held) it was done by a double. He’s got an NIL deal supposedly with Red Bull.
