Around College Basketball

Never? They won infinity times more Ncaa tournament games than we have in more than 2 decades just last year and finished 4th at 12 - 8 in a 15 team league.

Interesting take.

In 2002 and 2003 Pitt under Ben Howland won the big east regular season titles and made the NCAA sweet sixteen. Then Jamie Dixon took over and from 2004-2011 won two more big east regular season titles and made 7 consecutive NCAA tournaments including an elite 8 and multiple sweet sixteens. They were the NCAA tournament #1 seed in 2009. He won 188 games in his first seven seasons, tying the NCAA Division I record for most wins in the first seven seasons of a head coaching career.

So to answer your question, I do not think Pitt has had anywhere close to the same level of sustained success since moving to the ACC.

My question was "Never?" And said nothing about "sustained success". I know who Jaime Dixon is and was right here when they were a top of the charts BE program. Obviously they came down from that perch changing conferences and losing Dixon. My point being that 14 and 6 and 2 Ncaa tournaments wins last season and 12 - 8 and a double bye this season is a recovery. The type we would cream over here in Queens. Even more of a recovery if they can just beat Wake today.

BC playing well again. Every little bit helps SJU as their NET rises.

Top 4 seeds in A-10 all out. Which means if you assume Dayton is in the field, that means A-10 is getting 2 teams and that means a bubble team is getting squeezed out.
