Around College Basketball

It's like the Boston College situation a couple years ago where they couldn't afford to fire the coach, except it's much worse because this is Louisville.

The more stress-prone among us should prepare for a spring of donors lining up to try to lure Pitino back.

Ha!!!! Vindicated!

Back on 12/4, I posted a comment speculating that Florida State would leave the ACC because it was excluded from the college football playoffs despite finishing their season undefeated. Yesterday, mulitple sources reported that Florida State wants out of the ACC. https://sports.yahoo.com/florida-st...he-future-of-college-athletics-154632042.html

Florida State's non-selection, means ACC members can't win a national championhip playing in that league. What doeas that tell AD's and college presidents and trustees about being in the ACC, if you hope to win a national championship? The above article suggests several schools that are considering leaving the league (North Carolina, Virginia). What does that do for ACC basketball? Where would Duke, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, BC go?

My Christmas wishes have been answerred!!!! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

You act as this drive to leave the ACC is new, it’s not. The only thing new is FSU has officially filed paperwork. Everyone who follows college football knew this was coming regardless of whether or not they were selected for the football playoffs or not. It was just a matter of time as this has been in motion for a while. Not getting selected for the FBS playoffs this year is just a red herring being added to their cause. The playoffs are expanding this coming season and under the same circumstances, FSU would be in.

The demise of the ACC is not imminent as this will be played out in the courts. As for where those teams you mention will go, we shall see but it will be to a conference where they can put their football program first, second a conference that sponsors all or most of their sports programs and go either independent in football (least likely) or park it in another conference.
