Around College Basketball

LA and Bay Area are distinctly separate markets. Like two different states if not countries.

I understand that but the Big 10 has the LA market and apparently by looking at Oregon and Washington are satisfied with the teams they have from Cali and are more interested in markets outside of there.

I'm not buying it, I think this is Oregon and Washington negotiating with the Big Ten.
I can see the argument for Oregon/Washington wanting to stay in the Pac (for now). The Big Ten deal expires in 2030. If Apple ends up paying them 25-27 mill + incentives, why not have an easy path to the college football playoff automatic berth + get paid roughly the same without inoccuring the cost of traveling nationally? The GOR would have to align with the Big Ten expiration date for it to make sense, I think

That's why I think they're trying to get a full share or at least on the higher end partial ($40 million). Last we heard Apple was offering $20 I think which would be half that. We'll see how serious the Big Ten is about not destroying that conference lol.

Also IF the Pac 12 stays together I'm not convinced UConn will be team #14. Adding two crappy football programs isn't a good look.
