Hope to meet them in the championship while they are riding a 39-game win streak.
It was a decent number twenty three years ago.Jeez, that's really not a lot of tournament wins actually.
I think they figured out a work-around on his NIL eligibility, so he probably stands to make more money at Purdue than as a second rounder.Zach Edey is coming back to Purdue for his senior season,
Why is this important?
Because, it's no secret the B!G places an emphasis on universities being AAU members. Nor is it a secret that the B!G wants to tap into the Florida market. The timing of this invitation is very interesting...
According to the AAU website (Scroll down to private schools ):
- The University of Miami (2023) and Notre Dame (2023) have been added this year
- UNC (1922) and UVA (1904) are the only other current ACC members
Out of all ACC schools, the above are the most logical fits to join the B!G... (Look at me: I mentioned this in a post a few weeks ago, lol)
The University of Miami is a first-class academic institution with a gorgeous campus situated in beautiful Coral Gables Florida.
Younger members to this site may not understand that 50 years ago the "U" was referred to as "Suntan U" and not known for its academics. The "U" pivoted during the 1980s and today is recognized for its academics as evidenced by its membership in the highly selective Association of American Universities.
Yep, the B1G would like a foothold in south Florida for recruiting and subscriptions the BTNetwork.
I read a theory of the UCONN leak being a ploy to get Arizona to join. That makes a lot of sense to me: blue-ish blood basketball program, Mountain time zone, geographic fit, academic fit. That probably gets the ball rolling with Arizona State and Utah as wellCulturally, Miami is a much better for for the B!G than FSU.
FSU, Clemson, NC State, and VT seem like better for for the SEC...
I'm interested in watching how the Big 12 continues to build. Colorado seems destined to join the conference, and we have heard rumors about UCONN. I wouldn't be surprised if Louisville and Pitt join.
That leaves GT, BC, CUSE, Duke, etc., scrambling for spots somewhere.
Arizona wouldn't need any nudging to leave the Pac 12 for the Big 12. The Pac 12 is a dying conference and every school still in it would leave for the Big 12 or Big 10 in a second if offered.I read a theory of the UCONN leak being a ploy to get Arizona to join.
