Around College Basketball 2019/20 Season

Not justifying what took place at his prior school but the atmoshere in college basketball and the money involved in winning so many rules are bent and twisted and many programs not doing things that are right
I think after all said and done he will coach a full yr and may be gets some games
suspensions for next season

Sources: The Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden expected to feature the following matchups this December:

- No. 1 Baylor vs. No. 15 Rutgers
- No. 3 Gonzaga vs. No. 20 Tennessee

Not sure I want a Rutgers program seemingly headed in right direction playing at the Garden.

Let's play less games at MSG while other team. Know some will not like these remarks schedule games there. Good way for our program to fall out of the perception of basketball fans and fall into obscurity

If we don’t wanna fall into obscurity let’s win an NCAA game or two for once. It’s been 20 damn years.

Agree but now that we have a coach and some good recruits coming in(some of whom have already stated the impact MSG has had on them picking SJU) we should not be cutting back on playing games there .

It's pretty easy for 4 or 5 other schools to come to MSG waving cash to play ONE game there.

A lot easier than penny pinching SJU asking to play 5, 6, or 7 MSG games and having a nice big bill

Sources: The Big Ten is expected to play its early conference games for the 20-21 season between December 4th and December 15th.

Makes sense unless the conference tourneys are cash cows.

Just have the regular season champ get the automatic

Conference tournaments have really has screwed many a good team out of the Big Dance.

I just don't understand announcing it now. See how things go the next 6 weeks (picking an arbitrary number). Just seems like many are making announcements just to make announcements. Then again its to appease the many inpatient citizens too. Who the hell knows anymore.

I find it completely demoralizing that stuff is announced that far out. I'm not expecting great news, but break it to me every two weeks.

As for basketball, that looks like the beginning of canceling next season's basketball too. Delaying it only pushes it deeper into flu season.

Also, does every school charter flights these days? I was on a commercial flight with the Mississippi St. team years ago. I ask because major disruptions to airline schedules leads to major issues getting to games, and travel will also be more expensive.

College sports might be in really deep crap.

Only Cal State Universities so far (including my son's) so Pac12 not affected . . . yet. UC's expected to follow suit but not official yet. Looks like LA County will be keeping shelter in place through July or August for anyone who can work from home while easing restrictions on some more businesses who can't. Abundance of caution here while trying to keep some folks employed. By the time this is over my hair will be down to my ass, but hey t least I have some at my age.

Took a peek in the window of my hairstylist, and everything was gone -- even the barber chairs and mirrors. Not sure if they were just being paranoid about being looted, but it sure seemed like they were never coming back. Shaved most of my head the following night.

Not big basketball and don’t think it’s been announced yet but Columbia heavily leaning to online classes fall semester as per a client of mine week or 2 ago

I texted my hair dresser to see if she would come over for a backyard cut and she advised she has been working throughout only for existing clients. I said no thank you. My wife wants to cut mine but I'm holding out.
