Are we in better shape than last year?
Wrong thread, but the Femi kid announced his final 4 of Georgetown, DePaul, Butler and Hofstra. Unless we turned up something really bad in due diligence, an absolutely travesty that we aren't on this list, and even more so if rumors of our HC not even being at the meeting with him are true. Doesn't negate everything else positive that is happening necessarily, but a really, really bad look.
I don’t think this is a bad look because it isn’t like we recruited him heavily after the visit and he is chose the local Hofstra over us. I think someone recently mentioned that it just wasn’t a good fit and both parties decided to move on.

Suspect this group, even without additional big man, will also impress a recruit or two waiting until Spring 19 to declare. The change in staffing results in immediate dividends as well. :)

Just having some fun
Okay Paultz, I'll bite. So, you're kidding about the staff change?
Paultz hooked me and then edited his post to Just Kidding so apparently he is not alluding to any staff changes at the present time. :(

Some chatter, but yes

Agree, at best final 4, wouldn't be surprised if we're in the elite 8......of the Big East Tournament. Do need to make NCAA T to show real progress and hopefully get this program humming.

I'm assuming there's 1 more departure to come and perhaps 1 more commitment.
And very curious where we might be picked, pre-season, to finish in the BEC.

I think what he meant to say is that this team will be in the top 10 of the Big East at minimum. At best final four in the Big East tournament but I wouldn't be surprised if we came in 8th and rave about our improvement from 10th place to 9th place to 8th place. To top it all off we are in good shape to lose Kofi Cockburn to Georgetown and at worst it will lead some to blame Anton Goff for not giving Mullin a contract extension which causes Mullin to lose every major recruit Matt was pursuing even though Matt is now the lead recruiter at Nevada Reno.
Hope I was able to help clarify SJU13's post.;)

Team should be better and big east not as good as last year but it will be difficult to match last year's out of conference record playing at Duke and at a good big ten team if SJU is involved in the big east/ big ten tournament.
Will probably have to win at least ten league games depending on the strength of the OOC schedule to earn a bid.

Oh boy. Do you realize that if Kieta tears something we will struggle to win 5 BE games?

If Kieta tears something we will go with Plan B. Five guard offense with everyone taking 20 foot 3 point shots.

One year at a time these days in Johnny Land.
On that basis, next year looks good if we sustain no / zero / nada major injuries.
Obviously a tough novena plea to the Almighty.
IF we do have a 'good' season (21 - 22 Regular Season + BET wins), we should be in the dance.
Let's hope for great music.
And hopefully the program attracts a couple top / solid HS recruits.
Guessing we'll have at least 2 'ships to offer: (MC Jr's & Shamorie's), and potentially more.
Let's go Johnnies.

Just having some fun
I soooooooooo want to give you + karma but I'm willing to bet no change in staff unless either Mitch leaves on his own or Mulllin gets fired at which point I'm not sure if I can give a plus or a blowtorch karma

I'm hoping in this scenario that Trimble leaves and we get a grad transfer or JUCO big. I like Trimble but we need the big more. If we do not sign anyone else and Trimble stays then we need either Roberts or Diakite to come up big this year.
