The weekends of 4/21-/4/23 and 4/28-4/30

UA event next week in NYC I believe, Muhammad and others will attend. I also think there is an event in Virginia at same time where some of our targets will also play. Details to follow.

Are you still confident we land Muhammad?

What could have changed in the past 2 days?

Matt distraught over the mets losses cant leave the house to recruit and we have no-one else recruiting

Matt A is now following Nassir Little. 2018 wing from Florida. Consensus top 50 player.

Is he following 6'11" Mohamed Bamba?
Texas was 11-22 last year. They were shittier than us. What are they offering that we can't?

If I remember correctly Coach Mullin called Bamba the day he was hired. In fact he may have been Coach's very first call. Obviously the interest is just not reciprocal.
And you know very well what the University of Texas can offer that we can't.

Unlike Kansas, Duke, UNC, Kentucky or Indiana Texas is and will always be a football school first. It is not a hotbed of college basketball. The only reason they are in the picture is Shaka having coached Mo for a couple of weeks. If Mullin called him two years ago and was rebuffed because he has a zero win track record at the time, he should have been a little more convincing this time around given the possible supporting cast of Ponds, Lovett, Ahmed, Simon and Clark. I just sent him this book. I hope he reads it. ;)

Well for one thing, Texas is not NY. Some players/people just don't want to stay home for college. Imagine that......

I happen to love Texas and lived outside of Austin for 2 years. It is all about wanting to play for certain coaches. As for Mo staying home please note he left home already to play prep ball. The hypothetical I proposed, was an example of staying on players over two years to change their minds but Bamba was never coming because he wants a guarantee to play the 4 and refuses to play the 5. Case closed.

So if he was never coming then why criticize, oh, wait, I forgot, that's all you do. And your hypothetical of staying on a player not interested in coming hoping "to change their minds" makes about as much sense as the rest of your posts. Case closed.

Bamba: I only want to play the 4.
Mullin: You got it.

That's how the exchange would have gone, so I'm pretty sure there are tons of other reasons why Bamba is not here.

Scottie Lewis & Bryan Antoine v Luther Muhammad & Jahvon Quinerly. UA event in NYC this weekend

Entertain us and list a few considering since he is still undecided.

His recruitment has been very quiet. I have no inside information but I get the feeling he is looking to play a year overseas and then enter the NBA a draft.

Everything discussed here is hypothetical when discussing future players since hardly anyone we recruit above 3 stars is a lock. To beat a dead horse, this type of player was the main reason we are still paying Slice a half million dollars.
As far as making sense, I am sorry to offend your sensibility.
We seem to have no problem, out of desperation, going after and staying on grand larcenists if they are tall enough. WTF makes going after elite undecideds who initially laughed at Matt a waste of time? We just wasted time on Nikola as far as tea readers are concerned. Then send Richmond on the next flight with Mullin.
As far as criticism it gets dispensed as needed. A third of the posts here by the literati such as yourself are critical of something. It is who we are as one of the most frustrated fans in all of college basketball because we usually don't live up to expectations or have low expectations. Two years ago I spent a lot of time following Slick. I made no bones about his importance to Mullin's future here. I expect the same aggressiveness with all our recruiting attempts, even those you may deem untouchable.

That sounds highly probable if his position at Kentucky doesn't materialize. Unless he is an academic risk there are no rules of salesmanship.

FWIW Scout list's Bamba's final four as TX, Duke, KY and Michigan. ESPN the same. 247 drops Michigan.

So it looks like maybe he wants a big time sports school atmosphere with an experienced coach with recent NCAA tournament experience and success, as do many. STJ offers none of that. Just thinking out loud.

Do not think this was a big surprise to staff

Nor do I but 72 asked so I thought I'd offer my uninformed opinion.
