Anthony Livingston

Does Livingston come in as the starting power forward and move Yakwe to the high energy guy off the bench or does Yakwe start and Livingston become the bruiser off the bench? Owens serves as the primary backup to Sima I would presume.

That is what I will do. Some people just fainted with the thought of bringing Yakwe off the bench but Yakwe and Sima together doesn't really work. I like Yakwe's energy coming off the bench and Livingston as the starter
That's what is so nice about Livingston, he compliments Yakwe and Sima . More of an offensive game, better rebounder, exp,and some beef. Gives us more versatility and a needed beefy big. Can Play Livingston wSima or w Yakwe. Plus we really don't know what role Owens will provide. The more choices the better. Helps w foul trouble , injury, match ups, etc.

Warning, don't confuse Sima's potential with his current ability. Kid is going to be a monster as a junior and senior. We haven't gotten their yet.

Yakwe on the other hand is an athletic anomaly. He can make a major impact even in his raw state.

I see Livingston playing more than Sima next year. Don't get me wrong......I do like Sima a lot..

Endless options depending on matchups. Livingston making space and Yakwe beating everyone to the ball, Sima and Owens playing over the top of small opponents, any number of combinations. Depth and flexibility with two real ball handlers for the first time in ages.

That could, Fuchsia, be the theme for 2016-17:
Endless options! :)
When was the last time that happened in Queens :(

Not to rain on anybody's parade, but have any of you seen Livingston play? Is there any reason to believe he will be any better than C. Jones?

2013-2014 NIT team under Steve Lavin. Very talented team with plenty of options. Flamed out in first round of NIT

Had way better stats than CJ but is a fair question. My enthusiasm for signing is purely based on the fact that he walked through two tasings. That scores very high in the toughness department. In fact I think they should make that part of the NFL combine. See how many tasings a prospect can walk through.

I cannot remember any Johnny team having as many as ten players fighting for playing time. Talk about competition. Going to be a lot of tough practices as they compete to start.

Not even close, you want to tell me there are no guarantees on our record next year I'm with you but this team has much better talent. On paper that team was deep but in reality not at all.

Just so I am clear, you are suggesting that this year's team has more talent than the 2013-2014 squad?

Fair point. I'm cautiously optimistic. I have mixed feelings about losing CJ. At a minimum, Livingston should be a much better rebounder

That '14 team is not on paper any longer and it had plenty of talent but it lacked coaching. This team is on paper as they have not played a game yet.

Interesting point. I doubt anyone on the site has actually seen him play live. Checked out his stats against high major programs - three last year and based on stats alone seemed to do somewhat close to his season average. CJ on the other hand, played the entire year against high majors. Who knows. Kind of wish CJ stayed to see what he could do after a strong close to the season, kind of excited to see what AL can do with higher caliber players.

apparently you weren't on the redmen.com booze bus trip to ark state to see him at the end of the year :). It was a fun trip We tasered a few members here in a drinking game

Well, yes that is clearly what I wrote and think. Of course, my definition of talent and yours might be two different things.

So if that team does more than ours next year then Lavin did more with less ? :)

Oh, no! It's morphing into another Lavin thread! :)
