Angel Delgado, PF (SETON HALL VERBAL)

“@jeffborzello: Angel Delgado was an absolute monster on the glass during EYBL -- has been a factor here too. Also continuing to advance his offensive game.”

Angel Delgado
Now for the opposite of a finesse big man, Delgado, the top rebounder from the Nike EYBL, hit his stride during the first session of games Friday. He went for 17 points and 10 rebounds. For the camp, he is averaging 10.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.

“@jerrymeyer247: Have the Stephen Zimmerman v Cheick Diallo match up I wrote about today. Playing out to form. http://247sports.com/Article/Isaiah-Whitehead-Cheick-Diallo-Stephen-Zimmerman-at-Top-100-135196

A very, intriguing prospect, as he seems like an high-level player who has a nose for the ball.

2014 power forward Angel Delgado has nearly had a breakout past few months based around his rebounding and statistics. Delgado is still getting accustomed to playing on a national spotlight, but is holding his own. Seton Hall, Florida State, Manhattan, Dayton and Virginia have offered. Major interest is coming his way from VCU, Providence, UAB, George Mason, Florida, Miami and St. John's.

“@ebosshoops: Angel Delgado reminds me a lot of Darnell Jackson at same age. Tough as nails, high volume rebounder and good 6-8 athlete. #NBPA”

Per Rivals....

Delgado keeps it simple

When Angel Delgado left his home in the Dominican Republic last August, he dreamed of doing well enough to earn a college scholarship. The 6-foot-8 power forward is well on his way to doing that and much more.

At LBJ, he was easily one of the camp's best rebounders and the No. 54 player in the class of 2014 kept playing hard when many other campers were slowing down. He's learning the English language but knows enough to explain the two simple things he keeps in mind every time he hits the floor: "play hard and grab the rebounds."

Since his arrival in the States, Delgado has earned scholarship offers from Virginia, Dayton, Florida State, Seton Hall, Providence and Manhattan. Louisville, Kentucky, Georgetown, Florida and Miami have sent out feelers.

Later this week, Delgado will play in the Peach Jam with the New York Lightning. After the Peach Jam, he's going home to the Dominican Republic, where he'll discuss with his family what his next move should be.

Per The Recruit Scoop....

One of the more ferocious rebounders to come across the summer circuit in a few years, Angel Delgado will win fans during July because of his rebounding. On a few occasions, even though people didn't see him get the rebound, they knew Delgado had snatched it because of how loudly he slaps the ball when he grabs it. He is also pretty good attacking the rim off of one or two strong dribbles from between 12 and 15 feet.

Delgado goes up toward the rim with "bad intentions." Tries to tear the thing down. Super-aggressive. #PeachJam #BBN

double digit rebounds all the time!

“@AdamZagoria: 2014 F Angel Delgado went for 17 and 11 in a loss to Team Penny”

Pretty sure he was ticketed for Atlanta school to join his coach but now that's changed it seems.

Seton Hall and Fordham????? We are not in the running for a kid who would get IMMEDIATE playing with the graduation of Sanchez, and you guys are not concerned? With Abu taking us off his list and now this, there seems to be cause for some concern.

Does seem very odd but we aren't going to hit a homer every year. Even the best strike out sometimes. Still think Lav will bring us our top 50 guys again even if it's not in the 2014 class.
