Anderson and Demeo's Lawsuit updates?

The loss of some very good assistant coaches that were excellent recruiters (Mark Reeves and Jeff Mateo) have def hurt the program. Interesting that Mateo went to rival Seton Hall who now have gone to 2 straight NCAA’s. How did we fire this guy? Bio👇
It is really hard to fathom they cannot find new assist coaches who are top recruiters.

Coaches should be lining up to work here. It is a great stepping stone.

Maybe compensation is an issue in terms of attracting talented coaches and staff. Non-revenue producing sports rely on alumni donations to fund operations and not too many people earmark donations to specific sports. I don't know what the total red-white contributions are, but I'm pretty sure is not at top of league. AH may know better as to how our salaries compare to other schools. If overall budget is an issue Cragg cannot raise funds by himself, as it is not even his job. President Bobby had frozen salaries and implemented a hiring freeze and that definitely had an impact across the board.

say what you want about iron mike, the dude made time to attend graduation to see off one of his players. thats got to say something.
Good call! We had two grads in bball and a bunch of others. Here's a couple of great shots. Because of their hard work, all will have better career opportunities.

Congratulations to all our Johnny grads. Mike Cragg also in attendance.

Graduation day for our kids. Even better than cutting down the nets!

They are not mutually exclusive

One of the jobs under the AD is making sure kids are going to class and doing the work. I don't know all the fundamentals of how they monitor (AH would I suppose) but in basketball, some kids really have to be pushed and be kept on, especially when they don't see themselves coming back.

First, the Head Coach assigns one assistant or one of the numerous basketball admins on his staff the task of going to each class on a daily basis to check if the players are actually in the classroom. Then the Mens basketball academic advisor gets a report each day from all of the teams professors with updates regarding attendance, missed assignments, mid terms and research papers that are due or upcoming, and schedules additional individual player tutoring as needed. Between the two, they stay pretty up to date on academic issues. They both report to the HC daily. The Academic Advisor is also in charge of scheduling study hall hours on road trips and informing players of dates and times and locations in each hotel. He does an excellent job at all of this academic support. if a player is negligent in any of these areas, he notifies the HC and then it’s the HC’s responsibility to hand out the discipline.
The AD is definitely involved in all of these areas as academic success is critical to the player’s eligibility and institutional APR (Academic Progress Rate).

The problem I have with the players supposedly doing poorly in academics is that no of them have been declared academically ineligible. Since I don’t believe that any of us has specific details, I suggest that we sit back and let the process play out.
I agree. The only thing that was painfully obvious to me was that Curbelo had all kinds of issues and Pinzon clearly didn't get along with coach Anderson. Everything else is speculation.

Did the same thing when he got fired at Arkansas. Family atmosphere is not just a catchphrase with this man.

For all the speculation and he definitely at least in his mind has right to be pissed but to me it shows some character coming back for graduation with his kids

From what I have seen CMA is good dude and family man. All this back and forth in the press and court papers is just typical contract dispute and lawyer talk. We on this board feel some way against CMA b/c he was not able to elevate the program but you have to separate that from the person individually.

agree plus unless something egregious in my mind we will end up paying anyway plus the stupid litigation costs which led to my comment a week or 2 ago if we end up paying 1 penny more than owed including litigation costs then whoever's decision this was should be fired immediately

The only person I give a pass to is Fr Shanley because he got us Pitino. Anyone else should be fired if we pay a penny more
