Amir Garrett Leaving St. John's

That he is transferring is as irrelevant to basketball at SJ as the Weasles are to music.

It's Weasels, with an el. You'd be surprised how often morons make that mistake.

Guilty as charged!
But I have dutifully listened to all the latest cuts and I subconsciously associated the name of the band with the measles.
Now if someone can only develop a vaccine against the effects of listening to the Weasels!
Frank Zappa is turning in his grave!

I actually rather enjoyed the stuff I heard. I'd go see them if a world tour ever brings them to a Bay Area venue.

The Bay Area???
You would have a better chance of seeing Jerry Garcia in the Bay Area than the Weasels!
Fun does not travel west of Utica.

A few posts earlier you were complaining that a thread about Amir Garrett was being hijacked to discuss Sam Sealy. Here you are hijacking it to talk about me, and getting it all wrong as usual. One of my many travelogue gambols can be enjoyed here:http://www.bigeastboards.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=72018

You should stick to plagiarism. It's much less taxing than trying to be clever.

As usual, you flatter yourself by interpreting my mimicry of your sarcastic style as "plagiarism".
One who gets ridiculed for ridiculing others should not be flatterd. Then again a basement "artiste" such as yourself never has any sense of taste other than one's own saliva mixing with cheap bourbon after a toke of homegrown.
That said, as a fellow hijacker, you should know we have no conscience and once driven off the subject path by the self-appointed righteous here, all hell can break loose until some saintly mod interjects with a friendly warning of being banished to the Big East Boards or some other Johnny come lately place like Johnny Jungle where a crud from Iona holds court.
Of course my boon buddy it gives much pleasure to see you posting again and I must say I was worried when the Big East was imploding. I lost countless nights of sleep wondering what would happen if the Big East name ceased to exist. What would become of the Big East Boards I asked. Where would I get my futUre material from if not for the good Doctor Fun and his thesaurus gone wild humor?
Again, welcome back!
Now back to Monsieur Mitterrand leaving St. John's....or was it Amir or Slim Sealy or........

It reads like an "announcement."

Uh huh, and right after that he announced that he was at the food court at the mall and then he had a special premiere showing of his sandwich on Instagram.

Bunch of middle aged men breathlessly parsing some kid's twitter feed. I'm embarrassed for you.

I'm not sure if you are middle aged (or a man for that matter) but you seem to be getting a lot of mileage out of the announe......; ah, sorry I mean twitter feed. ;)

Btw, fun, I don't follow any kids on twitter. Someone posted it and I replied to it. As far as being middle-aged, I confess. I am.

Red, if you are middle-aged here you count as a youth!
Fun is no spring chicken either but for a guy who accuses others of plagiarism he has much experience in that instead of being original and inventing a new sound in music he and the locally world famous Weasels have been doing 20 years of the Mothers of Invention.

In my opinion he should just focus on baseball and forget basketball. It seems he has a better chance making it as a baseball player professionally than as a basketball player. I saw him a few times before he got called up to class A, pitching here in Billings, and when he is on he is lights out. He just needs to dedicate more time to pitching to refine his game. On a side note Amir is an awesome kid. Very down to earth and pleasant to speak to. I let him know of all the thanks that this board had for him and his dedication to our program and never giving up on his word that he'd play for us. He appreciated it.

I agree. I think he enjoys basketball. Playing on a high major program like SJU is more demanding. That maybe a reason he transferred..Im glad to read he is doing well.

The way young pitchers are blowing out their arms after pitching too many innings too soon, maybe basketball is a blessing in disguise.

Anyone know if he is going to be playing at Northridge. Just looked at there site and he hasnt played yet so wondering if he is dropping bball

As a transfer, he must sit out a year.

I had read he had requested a waiver. Does anyone know if it's still pending?
