ALCS: Yankees Vs. Astros

NY teams now 0 and 2 going to Houston up 3 to 2. Didn't work for Knicks against Olajuwon, didn't work here. Same ending, as the Yankee lineup and John Starks both whiffed lot when it counted most. The younger guys need to learn to stop chasing the curves and sliders low and away. It will happen with experience. Disappointing, but still a nice unexpected run.

Last night was a bummer. That said, I take solace in the fact that none of the following players are older than 27 years old. Future is bright!

Greg Bird
Starlin Castro
Didi Gregorious
Arron Judge
Gary Sanchez
Luis Severino
Clint Frazier
Sonny Grey
Chad Green

Considering that they were supposed to finish no better than the middle of the eastern division of the American League, and that they lasted longer than Boston, I rate this as a successful season. I just wish that next year, they can cure themselves of homerunitis, and learn to play some small ball, Billyball. I love Judge, but he seems to want to pull everything to left field. But, I love his swing; reminds me a great deal of DiMaggio's swing.

That's a long swing, when he misses it looks bad, to me anyway.
It just burns me when they can't hit in a game 7. In the heat of the moment I'm so intense, which why sometimes I go out and put on the radio

A day later and time to cool down, yeah the future is bright.

Not just successful. Highly successful. Rebuilding on the fly and getting to game 7 of the ALCS. Breakout performances by a number of young players. This was a great season, regardless of the loss yesterday.

This Yankee team looks like it is going to be very good for a long time. And to think the franchise hasn't had a losing season since 1992. That is a remarkable stat which doesn't get enough pub.

SORRY he has a long way to go to be compared to Joe D He hits homers but his swing and what joe would swing at is incomparable

If we could get rid of Michael Kay now we'd be unstoppable!

Kay and Waldman need to go. I can take Kay, but those two, YIKES!!!

As for Girardi, I have never been a big fan of his managerial skills. He deserves some credit as this team definitely did more than I thought or even imagined they would, but I am not sorry to see him go.

I am not a fan of going with analytics all the time. You need to be flexible and Joe just wasn't enough for me.

Agree on all counts and take John (if you don't like my calls don't listen) Sterling with them. Say goodbye to Joltin Joe Girardio!

Dumb move by the Yanks to not bring back Girardi.
Got more out of this team then most thought.
They better bring in an experienced manager.
Donny Baseball? Buck II? Where's Billy Martin when you need him.

Cashman is lucky he turned around the farm system.

Sterling and Waldman are terrible. I like Michael Kay. As for Joe, I like the way he handles the team and supports his players. I don’t like his in game coaching. He relies too much on analytics and not enough on instinct. Unfortunately, I read that Cashman wants a replacement who will strongly rely on analytics.

Agreed. It sounds like front office thought Girardi didn't rely on analytics enough! God bless us, the next manager is going to be managing from his iPad.
