The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
And to think he's already been banned.

@RogRubin: An academic issue is likely to prevent St. John's freshman Adonis De La Rosa from playing this semester. NYDN story coming. #sjubb

We are Saint John's. Hopefully this is not for the whole year.

Always something.

If true, between this and Thomas heads need to role in the compliance area.

If it's only for one semester, it could be a blessing. Let him hit the books, work in the gym and practice, and get in shape.

Would stink that he wouldn't get any game action, but I didn't think he was going to play right off the bat.

Some on here wanted him to redshirt. Hopefully, this will only be the equivalent of that.

I'm not well versed in all the rules of the NCAA, but this doesn't turn into something stupid like permanently ineligible here because he already got some game action, right?

Just trying to think through this ....

He's a freshman, so that means there isn't a problem with his grades since he started at SJU, because he has no final grades yet.
That means this is an issue with his HS grades, in which case he really didn't pass through the clearinghouse. How did the school just find out now?
Why wasn't he taking summer classes? (or maybe he was, does anyone know?)

Hearing its for the year. Playing in the exhibitions has no baring on it.

Being a SJU fan is giving me ulcers. Loosing Thomas is bad enough but loosing both is brutal. Lavins 2 best recruits ineligible, not good.

C'mon this is big stuff compared to UNC cheating for 19 yrs. Sure nothing will ever happen to them.

Regardless of what happens with IB on Thursday, this is becoming an absolute joke. Every year it's transcript problems or eligibility issues. First and foremost, this is a college and from afar I'm getting a feeling that the staff doesn't give a rat's ass about it.

I hope the higher ups get a compliance officer on this because it's making the school look like a joke.

@NYPost_Brazille: St. John's freshman forward Adonis DeLaRosa is ineligible at the moment, source confirms. #sjubb
