Adios Eli

Too bad, because he seemed like the type of player who could turn it around and give 10 ppg as a third option. But the new staff runs a tight ship, and if he wasn't buying in, I'd rather have a new kid who will.

Maybe he can get a waiver. Old staff fired, tried to give it a shot with new one.

Unfortunate for both sides. We need someone with his skill set and his immaturity seems to be compromising his collegiate opportunities.

Let's hope this is the final after-effect of a program that has long breaded these blindsiding disappointments.

Logical to assume a big is in works I guess.

Assuming the staff has known this was a possibility, I give them credit for quickly landing Dunn in an attempt to mitigate the loss.

Unfortunately the staff has known this and it is the staff's decision.

Actually, I heard about this nearly a month ago. I heard Wright wasn't actually buying in, although Anderson was really attempting to motivate and get Wright to work harder.

Oh, well....

He sure looked like he wanted to be somewhere else at MA's introductory press conference! Hopefully this will work out for the best for both the team and Eli. Time to move on. Hoping for a breakout year for Greg W. and seems like Dunn will play exactly the kind of tough D coach wants.

What makes you say he was immature?

Positive you are 100% correct and too bad as I have no doubt CMA tried hard to get him to buy in.

Just from hearing that he is not committing himself to the team. He's blessed with a lot of talent and is seemingly careless with the opportunity it has brought. My guess is immaturity has him distracted. Doesn't make him a bad kid. Hope he finds a team he can play for.

I wish him the best. From what I heard he’s a good kid and had to deal with a lot of personal stuff last year. That being said he didn’t commit to CMA and Coach is definitely running things and holding people accountable especially if he thinks you have talent and you aren’t realizing your own potential. Was really hoping he’d be our third scorer. It is what it is. Dunn makes a lot more sense now

Totally different coaching approaches from last year to this. Wish him luck, wish him a waiver, not remotely a surprise.

Good luck wherever u land . Hope you and Dunn, for us, get waivers. Hopefully we have a big in mind and can close fast

This is college basketball today. Good luck to him. Next man up.

I know everyone gets excited by commitments and transfers and all that. In the new era, I just wait for October 15th or whatever date first practice is to see who actually shows up on campus. Even then, in season transfers and leavers are now du jour. (Lovett, Dixon, Sima etc.)

But where’s the fun in that ?

I guess where there’s smoke there is fire ,especially for SJU fans. Disappointed, top 100 recruit. But need players to buy into coaches game plan. Explains the Dunn acquisition. Matt’s transfers lately turned out to be duds for us., Eli,Dixon and Keita. Hopefully we will have good luck w Caherer sp?
