Achiuwa May redshirt

I just hope SJU never plays these outdoor aircraft carrier games. If anything they should just be exhibition games. College basketball isn't supposed to be played outdoors with a 25mph wind.

I was saying the same thing while watching the game earlier in the first half. I hope we never play one of these games. If they wanna play outside, then let them play on the blacktop without it being as a regular season game.

Frankly, I hope this is the last season these games are played.

Watching this San Diego State/Syracuse game.

There's no way we can compete with Cuse's length. They just march long body after long body onto the court.

Also, we need shooters to bust that zone.

Scary team.

Gift would log quality minutes against a team like this.

How does Polee look?

Like absolute trash.

I turned to it a little after it started and Polee was in so I'm assuming he is a starter. But he looked lost out there. Coach took him out and never put him back in again. Even in the 2nd half from what I saw.

Winston Sheppard, the freshman from Findlay Prep, got Polee's minutes. We were after Sheppard. He didn't look good either but he looked better than Polee. After seeing Sheppard, I'm glad he chose SDSU instead of us. I was high on him at Findlay. I think he'll come around in his 3rd year.

Either way, we're not missing anything from Polee. Amir is a much better player right now than him.

After the disasters this year in three different locations I would certainly hope they never do this again.

I understand they want to show appreciation for the armed forces which is totally cool...maybe transform a hangar into a court...that would be pretty cool and still show appreciation for our military

If we played a game on a carrier I'm pretty sure the NCAA would find a way to sink the ship

After just watching the 'Cuse/SDSU game on tape, Polee did not start and looked bad in the few minutes he played. Sheppard didn't look very good either and has no jump shot. The whole Aztec team was bad..,they can't shoot, they play soft D and are awful at the free throw line. For their sake, hopefully this is some early season jitters and new players coming together. Their whole offense is driving to the basket and drawing fouls. They shot 33 times from the line and made 14. Can't beat anyone that way, let alone Syracuse. And, they can't hit 3's with many of their attempts not even drawing iron (which likely had something to do with the wind, which must have impacted their free throws too). Syracuse looked really good in the first half, and seemed to coast in the 2nd half. They're tough.

Didn't need this game to know Syracuse was going to be tough. I'd wait until SDSU plays in a real game (inside without wind in your face and sun in your eyes) before I pass judgement. Sheppard didnt shoot well, agreed, but he rebounded, handled and passed really well in the few minutes I watched and looked pretty effortless doing it. Didn't see (or notice Polee)

How does Polee look?

I've been flicking back and forth and haven't seen him. Winston Sheppard OTOH is a very smooth player who I think will be good in a year or two.

I've been doing the same, austour. I'm watching NFL games, as well. I guess I've missed the time(s) when Polee was in the game. Quite frankly, I wasn't even thinking about him, as I forgot he was with the Aztecs.

I also think we have the sufficient length, IF Sanchez, Bourgault, and even GG are suited up. Still awhile before we play the 'Cuse.

Kinda surprised Christmas could only manage 3 pts in 25 minutes against a team that has no center on its roster...Was kinda expecting him to be much improved as a soph.

I thought the Franklin kid was really impressive. It seems like SDSU's entire roster is comprised of combo forwards. that doesn't bode well for Polee at all. It seems clear, as of now at least, that Shepard is ahead of Polee on the depth chart.

Christmas looks much improved. He didn't score because for some strange reason Cuse was not posting up their bigs. They were relying on Triche, MCW and Fair.

Christmas has an extremely high ceiling. I like his game a lot.

This plan better get scrapped quick.

Completely agree

I said last week that we probably would see GG suit up in Charleston. Scratch that idea. I think we see him, and possibly, Balamou suit up tomorrow.

We need to come out and run these other less athletic teams out of the gym. Having a deep bench allows us to do that. We need GG and Felix on the court and hopefully Marco. There is no reason to redshirt Felix in my opinion. GG if Sanchez was eligible made sense. Our strength would be full court trapping defense and taking the other team out of their offensive scheme. Scratch whatever they were trying to do in exhibition.
