ACC and MSG Chatter picking up

So now Jay Bilas is chiming in. Have you ever heard so many cry babies.

Jay Bilas is an ACC whore!
Let's see -------Syracuse, Pitt, ND, BC, Miami, Va Tech, Louisville......oh, and Duke and UNC.......would be great at MSG?

That is the old Big East you moron with the only 2 ACC teams that have brand recognition in NYC!

Bilas doesn't slant but speaks what he believes. He has three Big East teams in his final eight, including Marquette, Georgetown and Louisville. He has Louisville winning it all.

I don't care if he has 8 Big East teams in the final 8......He is an ACC man.

Jay Bilas is the biggest d*ck on ESPN... and this whole "story" is nonsense... F the "new" ACC... long live the REAL Big East!! :fight: :ninja: B)

I really can't get worked up about this, the subject line says it all, "chatter". MSG will do what's best for themselves, and that's host a post season tourney that people will purchase tickets for, and last I checked the Big East has hosted a tournament consecutively for almost 30 years. I'm sure the basketball coaches and former players in the ACC (new or old) believe that playing at the Garden is good for them in terms of recruiting, alumni, and most importantly dollars, but last I checked they have a rotation of places that has not gone further north than D.C. and unless the ACC can guarantee that the Garden's earnings (every 4 years or so) will exceed the Big East's yearly revenue, I don't see the Garden pushing a client into their Brooklyn competitor's home. This sort of chatter does well to ruffle our feathers, but its still only talk. The new Big East plans on having its home offices in NYC, adding very competitive members, and inking a lucrative TV contract...lets calm down about the Garden, I'm sure it'll still be ours.

Oh and for those ACC "whores" bragging about their newest teams playing in the BE title game, I could have sworn that I watched our sloppy seconds in Coral Gables hoist their trophy.

Like it or not, Jay Bilas is absolutely correct. The ACC Tournament at MSG would without a doubt out-draw, get a better TV deal/exposure and create better advertising opportunities than the "New Big East" would. Syracuse, Duke, UNC would all far outdraw our top school ticket sellers and even the bottom of the ACC would out-draw the likes of Butler, Richmond and Creighton. And as Bilas said, there are likely several ways for MSG to get out of the contract if the ACC's offer is sweet enough.
