Adam Zagoria just tweeted that ACC is looking into making a bid for NYC in April and May.

Boeheim and Pitino discussing this at great lengths as well.

How strong is our contract with MSG Untill 2026. Will MSG honor it?

If I said to you that I would rent your house once every 4 or 5 years. And someone else said they would rent your house every year. Who would you rent your house to?

You know those lottery commercials where the winner dreams? I just had a vision that I won, bought the Garden, and told the ACC to play their tourney shoeless on a tobacco farm.

Not surprised to hear this and wouldn't be surprised if it happened. MSG is going to go for whoever they feel is going to give them the best draws and the 'new' ACC is going to have the look of the 'old' BE plus Duke and UNC (defections notwithstanding). Current BE tourney now in quarterfinals with 3 schools that will be in the ACC next year and another that would join in a heartbeat if the opportunity arose.

Well there's always Barclays.

Just kidding.

MSG is key.
-------

Have read several items in just the past few days saying the Big 10 is looking at Barclays.

Off topic but in football the Big 10 and ACC are looking at playing in the Pinstripe Bowl.

New league is going to sell out, MSG, imo. Gtown, Nova, PC, Seton Hall, us, all within driving distance. Creighton and Dayton fans travel. I'm considering jumping back in for next year's tournament, because with less teams, I might get a halfway decent seat.

The only thing that will be hurt by the new league are the bars around the Garden.

I agree Moose. What if they wanted to play consistently though (Don't think it will happen).

Barclays has the A10 for the next few years.

ACC could play at the Rock or Meadowlands or even Coliseum.

Pitino is saying we should move to DC.

And we should tell Pitino to go screw a waitress and never schedule Louisville.

Pitino is saying the Big East should move to DC??? LMFAO!
I am sure the Big East will listen to him!
We pretty much know what the Big East will look like in 2014 with 12 members. All are basketball schools that will fill the Garden for years. What will the ACC look like by 2017 after the current sites are exhausted? Will Pitino be at Louisville? Will Boeheim be at Syracuse? Will coach K be at Duke? Will UNC be in the BIG?
Does it impress Adam Zigoria that neither MSG nor Barclay submitted bids to host???
What a stupid thread!

It just goes to show the extremely high level of paranoia around here, which is unfounded of course.

As we know Rick has never met a microphone he didn't like.
This week is nothing but a chance for reporters to sell papers, increase page views and twitter followers with little sound bites.
Like you alluded to the ACC would never play here every year. Earlier in the week down in Greensboro Coach K mentioned how great the city is and top notch. If ACC wants to play in NY go to the Carrier Dome where one of their members actually play.

Funny how the only ones who keep trying to keep the "ACC to MSG" rumors alive are the schools leaving the Big East for the ACC. Hmm, could it be a case of "be careful what wish for"? Sounds like they are already regretting the move & it hasn't even happened yet. Could it be that Syracuse, Pitt, ND & Louisville are finding out what BC already knows...that the ACC is and always will be a conference where Duke & Carolina rule the roost & everyone else is 2nd fiddle.

Its true. Sour grapes all around.
Wouldn't be shocked if it was used to lure them down there and now they realize they probably won't be seeing it.

I think NYCRedmen just said it all.

first...zags has a "C' credibility rating.

second...if the acc chooses to play at the garden every year, msg would kill to get them. the catholic 7-12 big east is the atlantic 10 with a taste of steroids. when everyone says the acc killed the big east, they know what they're talking about. this would be the final shovel on the road to high mid majordom....

And outsiders think we New Yorkers are full of hubris in that we believe New York City is the center of the universe.
New York is the center of the universe! It's kinda nice knowing that everywhere else plays second-fiddle to our town.

If the ACC pledged to use the Garden every year, there is very little chance that we (the new Big East) or the America-12 keeps MSG.

Lets face it: Duke, Syracuse and Maryland combined would out-draw our entire conference combined attendance wise. The ACC would blow our attendance mark out of the water. Sad but the truth.
