Abdul-Malik Abu, PF (NC STATE VERBAL)

@AdamZagoria: Abdul Malik Abu and Jared Terrell will announce Sept. 7 at a presser in Boston, per Tyron Boswell

Package deal to providence?

Package deal to providence?
if they are announcing together that would make sense.

That would be huge for providence and great for our league

“@jeffborzello: Abdul Malik Abu and Jared Terrell announcing September 7. Right now I'm feeling NC State or Florida for Abu, URI for Terrell. Could change.”

If you enjoy looking up in the standings.

My guess:

Abu- Florida
Terrell- Ok. State

They are announcing same day! Providence...both of them.

And I think they'd both be making a mistake going to Providence. Just my opinion.

Yes, great for the conference. But hearing them, Terrell wants to be an NBA caliber PG. not knocking Cooley but what kind of player development has he shown? I think Marquette is actually the best "fit" for Terrell. And I think URI would give him the most minutes and therefore the best/highest individual stats. But looking at what Smart is doing at OSU has to intrigue (or it should intrigue) a kid like Terrell.

Obviously I have no clue what it feels like to be a Top 100 HSer and wooed by colleges. But if they're just going to Providence because it's local or Cooley sold them the best then okay fine.

Again, just my opinion.

I think it's a smoke screen.

It could very well be a smokescreen.

LJ Peak and Shaq Davidson both announced their destination on the same day in Gaffney, SC. Most folks believed both Peak (a top 70 basketball recruit) and Davidson (a top 100 football recruit) were headed to play for the South Carolina Gamecocks in their respective sports.

Well.... That wasn't the case. Davidson announced for the Gamecocks, while Peak announced for Georgetown.

I know both players participate in different sports, but the fact was both of them announced at the same time and chose different schools. They are also friends from what I've gathered.

Actually, I think Abu and Terrell are headed for Providence. But I wouldn't be surprised one bit if they both headed in opposite directions, and Providence is left empty-handed.

This is a very, important recruitment for Providence.

I don't see how two kids that may or may not be friends and who play two different sports can provide any insight to this situation. We know these two are friends, they've spoken several times about their desires to play together, and they are announcing on the same day. I've personally felt that they were both Providence recruits to lose for a while, but I have no inside info. I would be shocked if they both didn't pop for Providence.

It's great for the conference. They are good talents, but no reason to fear Providence.

Far from fearing Providence. Georgetown consistently puts out more talent (and, usually is more formidable) than Providence, and I'm not afraid of them. So no need for me (or, anyone else) to sweat the Friars.

Like I stated, I've gathered that Peak and Davidson are friends. Regardless, whether they play different sports or not..... They play sports at the same high school, and announced on the same day at a joint press conference. Most local (and national) recruiting analysts and reporters thought both kids were gonna announce for the Gamecocks. But that didn't happen. It was even more shocking, considering Peak had never visited Georgetown (but that's a story for another day).

Hey! I'm one who wouldn't be shocked one bit if Abu and Terrell headed in opposite schools, and Providence wasn't anywhere in the equation. By the way, both players have also expressed that there was a chance they may not play at the same school. It could've just been a bunch a talk, but it was mentioned in a few interviews.

I, actually believe they'll end up with the Friars, but I don't believe it's a slam dunk.

Thought I knew how to post an image but I guess not.

Prov. may be disappointed;

“@GoodmanESPN: My gut (and a little intel) says Abdul Malik Abu picks N.C. State over Florida. If thats the case, would be HUGE for Mark Gottfried & Co.”

I'm going with N.C. St. and OSU.

You're the winner!

It's unfortunate for Providence since they were the lone school with both players listing them. Not to mention, two kids they have been recruiting for awhile in their backyard.

I thought they would get both of 'em, but I never thought it was in the bag for them. Oh, well....
