2nd Seton Hall game

KW not a happy man tonight after loss;

The snow isn't supposed to STOP until Friday morning at 5am.

Is anyone planning to go to this game?? I really want to go and am willing to trek through the snow to take the train back and forth. My only worry is that NJ Transit will stop running and I'd be stuck in Newark.

That would certainly be a doomsday scenario

FWIW, The hall look lifeless against Marquette right now, losing 24-12. Hopefully they bring this effort Thursday.

they looked like absolute garbage. Sina stinks, we could turn him over everytime he has the ball same with Teague. They got destroyed on the boards and outhustled all night. Just take the 3 away from Oliver and we win easy

This is exactly the attitude we should be avoiding. Don't feel cocky; this is a dangerous team. They have a lot of talent, albeit it inconsistent talent. When they're hot -- and granted, it's not always the case -- Edward and Oliver can kill you with 3s; Teague can score a lot inside against physically weaker match-ups; and Gibbs can break down a defense.

The last thing I want to hear after the game -- and I've heard it countless times, over and over again -- is "We weren't up when we came out"; "We were thinking of Georgetown" (i.e., our next opponent); or "It took us too long to get into it."

TAKE THESE GUYS SERIOUSLY! We haven't won on their home court in something like 15 years!!!

From what I'm hearing so far, I don't think the storm will be enough to stop NJ Transit and PATH service. I'm going with a group of about 5 Redmen.comers. I'm going to try and get to Brick City Bar & Grill around 7:00 since they don't take reservations on game night and secure a table for any all SJU fans. We'll be the guys wearing red :p

Hopefully he starts some walkons :)
I don't like Marquette at 6-5 in a down year. They are going to muddle it up for the conference's NCAA hopefuls.

We are in position to take anyone lightly. SHU will be desparate to knock us off. I think the fellas know this. GO JOHNNIES

Exactly the reason I expect to see a very different SHU team that takes the floor against us. It's why you have to play every single minute of every single game.

we barely eeked out a win at CA just a few weeks ago so I seriously doubt we wont take this game or any game seriously. And if we don't then we don't deserve to win. That doesn't mean that Seton Hall doesn't stink right now because they do.

There is virtually no crime in Newark during snow storms so that will be a plus. For St. John's the fact that there will be virtually no fans at the game will also be a plus. It should be a nice quiet win before Gtown......I hope.

I worked very close to Newark at one point, commuting up the Jersey Tpk, GW bridge, Cross Bronx, and Throgs Neck or Whitestone Bridge. My bosses were great, and when a snowstorm started, would send me home early because they knew I lived on LI. Another co-worker who lived on LI wasn't so lucky, and in a blizzard, got stuck in traffic that wouldn't move. He was walking through 24 inches of snow looking for shelter when two guys mugged him. He was so pissed, he screamed at them, "You have got to be effing kidding me". They robbed him anyway.

This game, aside from the obvious ramifications of having no margin for error the rest of the way is a landmark game.

Very few teams have ever crawled out of an 0-5 conference hole so quickly to get to .500 in just the following 7 games. If they achieve this, it is an enormous plateau going forward and looking at the ensuing 6 games as a new season, albeit one where they would have to go 5-1. I had said a few weeks ago, I wouldn't get excited until we crawled back to .500, and realistically it had to be this fast.

So now, if they are really an NCAA team, they will get the job done at SHU. Won't be easy, and no disrespect to a team that in recent history plays its best against us, but if these guys really believe they are NCAA caliber, and we believe it too, they must get business done tomorrow. Forget about the DePaul and Providence losses - they are history now - somewhat akin to freshmen bringing home a bad first semester report card. For those of us to believe this is an NCAA caliber team, tomorrow at SHU is a litmus test. Win, and even more thant Creighton, they showed they belong in the discussion going forward. Lose, and well, it's like a first round NCAA loss by a team that really didn't deserve to be there in the first place.

If you are a believer, you will be on the edge of your seat tomorrow until the outcome is clear.

That is very true, after starting 0-5, 6-6 would be remarkable, especially when the only loss in the stretch we avenged just a week later. Would be a tremendous accomplishment for the team

Yea, SH is in trouble.

I feel bad for whitehead, Oh wait, no I don't

Regardless, this is a team that has just one fewer conference win than we do; a team that has beaten both Georgetown and Xavier on the road; and a team that lost by just one point on our home court. Whatever problems they're having, the fact remains: they are dangerous and capable of beating us.

Perhaps the only reason why willard still has his job so far is next years recruiting class and we know what he had to do to get whitehead. it will buy him at least 1 more year at a terrible cost in my opinion. anyways i expect a win out tomorrow. with bad weather, there should be bad attendance. I am still shocked we haven't won there in over a decade.

That's a good way to get the team pumped for the game. The fact that St. John's hasn't won in over a decade there. This our first game against a team we have previously beaten this year, so it will be interesting to see what kind of energy this team comes out with. St Johns is going to be fine I think, because again, even though we got a nice win, we still have a lot of work to do to get into the tournament. No one is getting complacent here. If Lavins tweets show any indication, this team knows they have to virtually win out to seal their automatic bid.
