2nd Creighton Game

It's regrettable that in the aftermath of his cheap shot he was still talking bravado, even as he destroyed any chance of beating Butler in one fit of uncontrolled anger.

I posted a couple of days ago that it would have been classy for Lavin to approach Wideman (I incorrectly posted Etherington) to see if we was okay and to apologize to the player and coach. Still and all, even if instructed to, CO did the right thing by apologizing publicly and to privately call Widener.

Has he really learned anything, or is he just following instructions? We'll see. But it's good to see Lavin disciplining him by a no-start, hopefully without jeopardizing our chances for a win. Let's really hope he gets useful minutes out of whomever he starts, and I'd be really disappointed if it isn't JDR or Amar.

Kenpom gives StJohn's an 82% chance of winning today and predicts the following score:

Creighton 61

I've been wondering, is not starting really even a penalty? The same thing has happened to Rysheed multiple times. They end up playing most of the game anyway.

True. Right or wrong, being desperate for a win, sometimes dictates the punishment. Beat Creighton!

Reasonable question. I would think that most players would feel disciplined by a non-start, and also by the public disclosure of a disciplinary action.

Great story: I was speaking to a business associate who played big time college football at tight end. He told me a story where in high school, he played fullback, and upon scoring his first career touchdown as an underclassman he celebrated in the endzone a little too much, and the ref threw a flag, assessed to the kickoff. The opponent ended up with favorable field position, scored on that possession, and won the game.

After the game, the coach screamed at the player: "You'll never see the field again". A couple of days later it was, "You'll never start another game". The next day, "You're benched for the next game" The next "You're not starting". Finally, "You're out for the first series next week".

In our case, who gets hurt more by CO being suspended or benched? I would say his teammates and fans. Without CO we are undermanned and ridiculously undersized.

Will this be the second start for Khadim Ndiaye?????

Look at rysheed Jordan hugging our coach right before tip. Hardly seems like the terrible a kid he is often painted as

Urgency is evident. I think we all knew we would probably win this game the DePaul game is the huge one. They are no pushover but we need to win
