I think Zach definitely knows who we're targeting/have soft commits to and couldn't say anything. He knew Hopkins isn't visiting tomorrow, for example, but we're in on him. That is news.

By process of elimination, he did basically reveal that Glover and Maker are sure-things to transfer. lol

I want Sim as well. We have to be honest, though, he’s been disappointing. He’s not all that far from some making a colorable argument that’s he’s a bust for a top 30 player.

He is far more valuable to us than another program. I can’t see him commanding a big NIL deal after shooting below 30% from 3 and showing absolutely no ability to play point thus far.
 
I can't believe next season is 7 months away. I'm likely taking a hiatus and will wait for alerts about signing and any team news from ny post before coming onto to the site.

Gotta say, the forum on coaching carousel is riveting must-read. Not sure how long my hiatus will be.

Exactly why Pitino said he isn’t recruiting HS this year. Chances are they won’t play and then will just transfer out. Why do the work of getting them to buy in to the system and then have someone else benefit from it.

I don't get why either would transfer unless they are being asked to.
 
The whole handling of Lefty has me totally confused. He played for a Greek youth all star team and he showed very good shooting skills. The talk was he was weak on defense and Pitino wouldn’t give him important minutes. By mid season I thought his defense was decent and with Brady and Glover out and a shortage of guards it seemed he would get more in the mix. It never happened. At least until yesterday.
Did he not play because of defense and since he was coached by Pitino for the past nine months , playing for a team that was deficient at outside shooting what would make him think he will have a better opportunity next season after Pitino brings in some shooters ? Of course it is only my opinion he was playing decent defense but I felt his defense when he did play was just as good as Witcher’s.
I’d hate to see him waste another year and next year will be tougher to get minutes.

I can only remember one nasty blow by yesterday. Thought he played really well in the face of what our situation was.

Lefty did not have the opportunity to play with the team throughout last summer due to Greek commitments and thus lost important learning time/personal instruction. Ditto Prey. Hopefully both will stay for both summer sessions and improve with skills training.
 
I believe Lefty arrived in Aug. which meant six months of daily individual instruction rom Pitino and team practices vs Richmond and Smith. If he couldnt get on the court by Jan. Playing for that Greek team was supposed to be better than US high schools.
Transferring to another school or going back to Greece is a personal decision but prior to NILthis was the whole point of immediate eligibility when transferring. If you are buried on the bench you leave. I’d like to see him stay but whether he can play at the big east level is still unknown. A wasted year.
