2025 Portal

This chatter about Bryce has been going on for two years now. I know for a fact there is a major disconnect between PC staff, and the Hopkins camp dating back to November. I'd be surprised if SJU is that serious of a player here, for multiple reasons.

For the sake of the drama, I'd like to see Cooley get a win here, and see the absolute inferno of an atmosphere that would be that first game Cooley and Hopkins talk in to the AMP hand in hand.
I had heard his parents already told PC of his intentions back around Thanksgiving. Few weeks ago heard it was dead though. Will be interesting for sure.

When I went to the SJU vs PC game in Providence I was at a restaurant before the game sitting at the bar with some PC boosters. They were not shy talking about how much noise there was from the Hopkins camp all summer and fall/winter with the big $ people at PC.

All the talk we heard from English about his injury status waffling in press conferences...it's been a pretty tense marriage this season.

Where di you eat? daughter graduated in May, tons of great spots.

Names from Trilly today that are likely to hit the portal. Top end mid major players to rotational high major players:

Max Green - Holy Cross
Josh Pascarelli - Marist
Adrian Wooley - Kennesaw State
Darren Buchanan Jr - George Washington
Major Freeman - Siena
Jadon Jones - Oklahoma
AJ Storr - Kansas (Might go pro)
Caleb Foster - Duke
Rylan Griffin - Kansas
Masai Troutman - Northeastern
Seth Trimble - North Carolina
Reid Bailey - Davidson
Chris Bell - Syracuse
Layden Blocker - DePaul
Camden Heide - Purdue
Pascarelli is a Queens kid and is a shooter. Big step up, of course, from MAAC to Big East.

Well with the season he is having, AJ definitely isn’t going back to Kansas and his pro prospects have take a hit (the last few times I saw him play, they were utilizing him off the bench playing more as a undersized four but hey, the money is good).

Forster hasn’t stood out one way or the other when I’v seen Duke.

Griffen (not Griffin as listed above) is interesting but had a better year last year. He and Zuby were teammates at Kansas and might have a connection from AAU ball.

Trimble hit the portal last year and then withdrew. He would be a good get.

Bailey I’ve heard about but don’t recall seeing him play. He has nice seize (6’10”) but is more an 4 than a five but has some perimeter skills. I would have interest.

Bell hasn’t impressed me when I’ve seen him.

Blocker definitely has a good game against us earlier this year but don’t think he’s done the same against other competition.

The others on the list I haven’t seem much of or not at all.

A way to early list but provides some
click bait and discussion fodder.
Davidson on CBSSN at 7 tonight against Loyola for anyone interested in watching Reed Bailey play.

Biggest recruit is RJ. Bring him back w Zuby and you have 2 all big East players
Should get a nice “raise” considering his improvement now that he is healthy. Last game he really let the game come to him and played imo his best overall game to date. He had some nifty passes, rebounded savagely and did not force a lot. Rick gets on him re transitional defense lapses, but he’ll get there.

It's great to talk about the potential portal prospects, but I trust Rick and his staff to identify the players and Matt to help close the deal with the NIL $ we're getting.

Obviously many more names to come including entire times who's coaches are "retiring"/getting fired - FSU, Indiana etc.

Good chance Griffen heads back to Alabama. Not sure why he left in the first place, their style of place is perfect for him.

Trimble will get plenty of attention but might be hard to beat hometown schools Marquette and Wisconsin.

Agreed on the rest, not much interest in them aside from depth type pieces.
SJU85 was right about Griffin having a better year last season and agree with you that Bama was perfect style for him only reason I could figure why he left was for higher NIL. Don’t know stats but he’s a good shooter with unlimited range and for right price wouldn’t mind Rick getting his hands on him.

Adrian Wooley (Kennesaw State) looks like a great kid to invest in as a possible multi-year player. Looks good "on tape" and shoots 40% from three. He will definitely have his suitors.

I'll keep beating the Jayden Ross of Uconn drum. He's in a horrific position with McNeely and Karaban ahead of him and competing with Stewart and the freshman wing for time.

He has to leave Uconn for the sake of his career. NBA upside and should come relatively cheap. He would fit right in defensively with his ability to defend multiple positions. Shooting is a little rough.

Liked by past target Silas Demary Jr.

I watched Arizona State for 15 minutes last night. Hurley is clearly 95% out the door mentally. Whole team is a toxic mess.

Sanon visited us unofficially last year. Guy barely got the ball, hard to judge. But clearly that whole team is gone.

Yeah. Sanon was playing great earlier in the season but then got hurt around new year's and has been terrible since. Not sure if it was the injury, the B12 defenses, the unstructured nature of Hurley's offense, just regressing back after an unsustainable start or all of the above. He was one of the best Freshmen in the country the first month+ of the season
