We all know Abdelmassih has been working the portal probably since last season and I’m positive we have a few pokers in the fire. In the day and age of the NIL, players aren’t always as eager to leave college for the unknown of not getting drafted. Making some money in college certainly changed the game and not all for the worst.

Matt gets kudos for this season’s portal additions, not only a talented group at both ends of court, but they had outstanding chemistry. Remember that when we see the “stud” names out there. It is more about system fit and melding new players w holdovers than McD tee shirts.

“Cliff Mania” was exhausting & he ended up at Bama averaging 8 points, 7 rebound this season.

This is definitely the type of kid you can take a flier on.

Doesn't pan out, it's not like you were counting on him as a senior to fill a gaping hole.

Looking at him as a soph gives you plenty of time to project what he can be.

This kid played down by me at a local public school here in south florida. He was 6'6 in high school so he grew since then. Obviously, no one thought much of him as he went the D2 route. Good for him that he improved this much.

I’ll take the patient approach this year: good scouting and patience worked extremely well for us last year. We were all “disheartened” losing Cliff who we thought was a lock, losing the UK center and coming up with our consolation prize in Zuby. Now Zuby is an All Big East monster and an absolute joy to have here. Wouldn’t trade him for any of the aforementioned players.

2 different recruiting classes. Zuby never a consolation prize anyway.
