Wouldn't count on it but Smith said in a local paper that he's looking into if he could have another year of eligibility and #79 confirmed it. It would be because of a NCAA ruling that didn't allow him to play until December of last season. The courts said whomever was effected by that would have an extra year of eligibility. Others with info said team isn't counting on it and see it as a low possibilty
 


Njie in the portal as well. Wasn't under the radar prospect for Iona. Top 200 guy who wanted to play as a frosh.



He got much better as the season came along. Averaged 17ppg in five games in March, 44% FG and 5 assists
 
I’ll take the patient approach this year: good scouting and patience worked extremely well for us last year. We were all “disheartened” losing Cliff who we thought was a lock, losing the UK center and coming up with our consolation prize in Zuby. Now Zuby is an All Big East monster and an absolute joy to have here. Wouldn’t trade him for any of the aforementioned players.
 
We all know Abdelmassih has been working the portal probably since last season and I’m positive we have a few pokers in the fire. In the day and age of the NIL, players aren’t always as eager to leave college for the unknown of not getting drafted. Making some money in college certainly changed the game and not all for the worst.

June 15: NBA Early Entry Withdrawal Deadline (5 p.m. ET)

Wouldn't be fair to judge our class until these dates are done.

For reference, Smith and Kadary were signed on May 6th and May 7th. Prey signed June 21st.
 
I keep thinking they put in the rule where undrafted guys could return to college.

Maybe make this post a sticky for when the 1st " we haven't signed anyone yet what's going on " post hits the board April 21 :)

I’ve never been as confident in a staff to recruit the right mix of players in my life.
