Great to have UConn and St. John's ranked ahead of every ACC team, and both conferences have 3 Top 25 teams despite the ACC having 18 teams. Only one former Big East school is ranked or even RV (#11 Louisville).

I know there's been a lot of negativity surrounding the rest of the Big East this off-season, but this is the best preseason AP Poll in realigned BE history. Just need our top 3 teams to live up the hype and 2-3 others to make the Dance. That'd be an excellent season for the conference.

Rick said it right, we'll know how good this team is pretty quickly. We've gotten used to our guys not really meshing out of the gate and needing time to shake off the rust and gel together. If we want to see this team as a 2 seed in March, then these guys will need to come out firing on all cylinders. These early games are very important to get quality wins against a really tough out of conference schedule.

Wasn't sure I would ever see the day SJU would open the season ranked in the top 25, nevertheless the top 5. Thank you, Rick, thank you coaches, thank you Repole and the rest. Cannot wait for this season to start.
