Admittedly didn't watch much Idaho State basketball last year but watched what I could on Youtube and wherever which is never a full representation. Obviously numbers and the eye test check out but it's always a gamble counting on a kid that is moving up multiple levels. Better players than him have flopped when faced with stiffer competition.

More so than the talent evaluation skills or lack thereof of those of us on the board, I think Rick's comments today about Sellers being the starting PG is very telling. Always have to take Rick's words with a grain of salt but him saying Sellers is the starting PG even though it was likely said at least partially in jest indicates two things to me:

1. The Jackson PG experiment is already over which is not a surprise given what we've heard from 79 and others from the summer practices to now.
2. Rick has serious concerns about Darling on at least one of the end of floor right now.

Ian Jackson has star potential, Oziyah Sellers had a big year last year, Dylan Darling coming of a player of the year award, Ruben Prey could take that sophomore jump...etc etc etc

These lists are fun to debate but don't put too much stock into it

-- Oziyah Sellers was the best player on the floor. Some of his 3s barely hit the net. Was under control.



-- Joson Sanon is silly-good in transition. So smooth.



-- Ian Jackson was great going to the rim. Shot didn't fall from 3. Made some very good passes.



-- Zuby Ejiofor was dominant inside after a slow start. He was getting the ball deep.



-- Ruben Prey continues to impress. Had some really nice moments against Ejiofor, including an up-and-under move in the post.



-- Second unit outside of Prey and Kelvin Odih struggled.


Some stats from today's scrimmage:





Oziyah Sellers: 30 points, 7 assists, 1 turnover. Hit 6 3s.


Zuby Ejiofor: 24 points, 14 rebounds, 8 assists.


Ian Jackson: 17 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 turnovers


Kelvin Odih: 19 points





Starters were Jackson, Ejiofor, Sellers, Sanon and Hopkins
