Admittedly didn't watch much Idaho State basketball last year but watched what I could on Youtube and wherever which is never a full representation. Obviously numbers and the eye test check out but it's always a gamble counting on a kid that is moving up multiple levels. Better players than him have flopped when faced with stiffer competition.Mug’s point about PG being the prime SJU concern is quite fair. He has seen Darling more than any of us and perhaps I am a bit too optimistic. His D seems fair game until proven otherwise. Rick’s reference to Sellers being prime PG imo can’t be taken literally since you never know RC’s motivation & schtick. At least the “Jackson will be our PG” theory is evaporating. He will be a nice off the ball asset.
More so than the talent evaluation skills or lack thereof of those of us on the board, I think Rick's comments today about Sellers being the starting PG is very telling. Always have to take Rick's words with a grain of salt but him saying Sellers is the starting PG even though it was likely said at least partially in jest indicates two things to me:
1. The Jackson PG experiment is already over which is not a surprise given what we've heard from 79 and others from the summer practices to now.
2. Rick has serious concerns about Darling on at least one of the end of floor right now.
