2025-2026 Season

We can win some early games with just talent. It's going to take real game time to see who can do what together
That's why the Michigan game is crucial for us... very good competition, at MSG... in a prime-time slot.... Great sim that doesn't go on the record.

Yes I’ll elaborate.
I’ll start by saying this team is in incredible shape. The talent level is really extraordinary..Mitchell is an absolute gem. The frustration thus far is finding combinations that play well together. As I stated months ago Ian isn’t a pg..and honestly not sure why they’d even try as it takes away his best attributes. These kids, ALL of them have to adjust to new roles than they have played their entire lives. Not just minutes, I mean spots on the floor, baseline running, wing slashing, defensive switches..yes every team with new players needs to mesh..this group is just taking longer than they had hoped. They are looking for combo of groups that can do this.. Odih is getting so much love, yes bc he’s tough but bc he’s fitting in diff roles with diff groups. They’ll find their footing

The negative of 2025/26 college basketball.

Been saying it since April but aside from Zuby there's probably no individual player that impacts this team's ceiling more than Darling.

If he's a Kolek-lite then this team can win it all.

If he's Rasheem Dunn then we're in big trouble.

He was a very wide range of outcomes offensively. Defensively, his range of outcomes is much smaller. We know he'll be above-average at best which won't be good enough for this team to be elite on that end again given the switch everything scheme. Quality opponents will be able to take advantage by getting him switched on to somebody he can't guard.

PG play is going to be to this year's team what shooting was to last year's.
