Admittedly didn't watch much Idaho State basketball last year but watched what I could on Youtube and wherever which is never a full representation. Obviously numbers and the eye test check out but it's always a gamble counting on a kid that is moving up multiple levels. Better players than him have flopped when faced with stiffer competition.Mug’s point about PG being the prime SJU concern is quite fair. He has seen Darling more than any of us and perhaps I am a bit too optimistic. His D seems fair game until proven otherwise. Rick’s reference to Sellers being prime PG imo can’t be taken literally since you never know RC’s motivation & schtick. At least the “Jackson will be our PG” theory is evaporating. He will be a nice off the ball asset.
this is one guys opinion who is making an arbitrary list...these ultimately don't matter.
Ian Jackson has star potential, Oziyah Sellers had a big year last year, Dylan Darling coming of a player of the year award, Ruben Prey could take that sophomore jump...etc etc etc
These lists are fun to debate but don't put too much stock into it
Sim was always close but would inevitably make a bonehead play that left you shaking your head.I liked Sim but Sellers is going to be a significant upgrade imho.
Hopefully not DarlingWho was guarding him?
Zach said the only two guys who played well on the 2nd team were Odih and Ruben. So we might want to hold off on printing those Dylan Darling for Mayor buttons just yet. (Then again if he's not a democratic socialist you might vote for him anyway, even if he's lacking lateral quickness)Hopefully not Darling
30 points, 7 assists, 1 turnover - not bad, scoring point guard numbers.Latest from Zach re today's scrimmage at MSG
Ian Jackson
"Nothing for him is good enough, and for me that's OK. I have no problem with looking forward and having a mindset to the next thing, and not just dwelling on success."
"Coach P is a different guy, in terms of his details, in terms of his approach, in terms of his work," the new Johnnie later added. "He's just different. It's something I needed. I'm growing from it and I love it."
Rick Pitino
"He just keeps getting better. This summer I was a doubting Thomas, so to speak. He's a sponge, he has a great attitude, he's a tremendous young man. He keeps wanting to learn, keeps getting better.”
-- Oziyah Sellers was the best player on the floor. Some of his 3s barely hit the net. Was under control.
-- Joson Sanon is silly-good in transition. So smooth.
-- Ian Jackson was great going to the rim. Shot didn't fall from 3. Made some very good passes.
-- Zuby Ejiofor was dominant inside after a slow start. He was getting the ball deep.
-- Ruben Prey continues to impress. Had some really nice moments against Ejiofor, including an up-and-under move in the post.
-- Second unit outside of Prey and Kelvin Odih struggled.
Some stats from today's scrimmage:
