2024-25 Rankings

AP Poll 2/17/25:
#10 St. John's
#16 Marquette
-----
#26 New Mexico
#29 Creighton
#31 UConn

Just as expected. Huge that Creighton was ranked, at least for last week, so we could stay in the top 10 despite the Nova loss. Also think their ranking helped with the sellout. UConn won't be ranked for our game on Sunday (would've been had they beaten Hall), but in a way I like that St. John's is highly ranked while UConn isn't at all. For the MSG game last year they were #1... how the tides have turned this season.
I like 10. It is a nice round number.

Looking forward to next year so we don't get depressing reminders of how miserable our recent history has been

Hopefully see tweets about how we are ranked top 10 wire to wire for first time since ____ (I'll assume 1984-85).

Ok forgot that but still other conferences can beat up on each other w/o same repercussions.
Expect BE to either get 3 in and one in playin or just 3 in.
It's because those conferences are better. The fact we lost @Nova and it didn't tank us was pretty fair, but if we had lost any of those Jan games, we would've been in trouble. There's just a big drop-off after the top 3-4.

Marquette, Creighton and us obviously are def top 25 teams.
I actually think Nova is better than UConn.

Yeah. I'd probably amend my comment to say there's a clear top three and a hazy next three with UConn/Nova/X. But compared to the SEC or Big 12, that second tier is struggling a lot in those conference's mid-tier.
