Keep winning it’s obvious we won’t get the respect from the so called “Bracketolgist clowns” until we beat UConn/Marquette's of the conference. Love the projections and all but it all comes down to us getting better as a team. I see it every game. More players are contributing. Most of all our identity is being defined by our defensive play. No one does or will want to play us and we keep getting better! Thank you Repole and Pitino for turning this around after 25years!!! LFGRedmen

Do people pay attention to that guy anymore?
I’m not going to pay too much attention to seeding projections when currently 13 of 16 SEC teams are projected in.
Assuming you can’t play a conference opponent 1st round and they will try to avoid round 2 matches (impossible now), this will make the seeding convoluted.
Not meant to say this will screw us, but we are St. John’s so… Keep winning and give them no choice but to put us on that 2 or 3 seed line!

The BartTorvik predictive bracketology has us as the last 6 seed based on our projected 25-6 (16-4) regular season record. Shows just how weak our non conference was and how uninspiring the Big East is this year.
Pitino said the goal is to get a 1 seed in the tournament, but according to Bart's Teamcast tool even if we win out through the Big East Tournament we get a 2 seed.

I'd LOVE for this to be an issue, winning out and debating whether we'll be a 1 or 2 seed on Selection Sunday, but if it actually did happen I'd be shocked if we weren't a 1 seed.
In 2024 we were unlucky (close Ls to Baylor, Georgia, and Creighton), but in 2025 we've had some luck (such as OT vs. Xavier). Realistically I think we can aim for a 3 or 4 seed, which I'd be thrilled with. Yeah the Big East is down, but would we be #15 and #1 in the Big Ten or SEC? Probably not, so our situation is pretty great.
So much is dependent on other teams but still good to look at. I would feel like we could afford to go 15-5, then win the BET and do better than a 6 seed. Yeah, I think if we go 34-3 it's going to be near impossible not to be a 1 seed with the likely attrition SEC and B10 teams will experience playing against each other.
I think our realistic ceiling is a 4 seed if things break right but agree with AMase's post above that a 6 might be better than a 4/5 draw-wise

I don't think so. He probably doesn't think we will win finish without another 1-2 losses. Nobody does.
I agree. If we won out, including the BET, we'd be on what a bazillion game win streak (too lazy to figure it out), conference tourney champ and regular season champ, and have over 30 wins. Definitely a 1 seed. Highly unlikely, but nice to dream.

I’m cautiously optimistic about how they’ll do against Marquette & UConn. I know it’s bad luck to talk about future games but I’m not on the team & I trust Coach Pitino will continue doing an amazing job keeping this team focused so…
If St John’s wins the next 3 games they’re going to be the talk of college basketball. This team will be the biggest story in the sport if they can pull it off. I know we’d all prefer wins & postseason success to media attention but the table is set…The return of an old power, Rick Pitino as a central character, NYC and the Garden getting behind a winner, the fact that the team is actually very good, etc. I know it’s bad juju to bring up but it’s pretty close and a real possibility.
