No, they compete in it once every four years.
That conference always has a representative in that tournament though, hence Towson's inclusion in the field.

Were they even expected to be good next season? I don't consider this a great loss, assuming we don't replace them with MVSU or UMBC.
Texas Tech was pretty mediocre this year, they only had a .500 record (probably why CMA scheduled them). Combine that with them not being local/intriguing and I imagine there are better options out there. Either schedule a better team, bigger brand, or a local team like Rutgers.
That is of course assuming we're scheduling another major program to replace them, otherwise it'd suck to lose a MSG game.

It was always a strange game to schedule. TT isnt very good so I am glad they canceled it. Bring back the Duke games!!!

I think it will sell well even if not part of a double header. Urgo has the fordham fanbase engaged.

-- Buzz that St. John's could play Hofstra at UBS next year. Two sides are deep into talks about it. Also St. John's is likely to play at least one Big East game at the Islanders' new arena as well.
-- Expect the last three games to be buy games at Carnesecca Arena.
-- Right now St. John's has Charleston Classic (3), Fordham at MSG, Gavitt Games at MSG (TBA), at West Virginia in Big 12 Battle and Boston College at Barclays.

My guess is original Big East schools are locked into MSG, and Xavier/Creighton/Marquette are TBD / trying to avoid Carnesecca
Agree, plus scheduling solid local schools.
Yeah, overall mission seems to be to shrink CA's as much as possible a game site sooner than later.
