2023-2024 Schedule

This'll be a fun game. I'm only using Rothstein's preseason as reference because it lists more than 25 teams. Michigan also isn't on it.

I'd really like to add a blue blood to this schedule.

Bringing this up because I can see Pitino wanting to do something like this at CA and the local teams. Clearly would make STJ the "alpha" by hosting the tournament, fun way to get the cupcakes out of the way, etc.

See Duke is following in the Lapchick Classic tradition: invite 3 teams you know you can beat and call it a classic.

Probably do not need 20 wins to get a bid with this schedule

Best guess schedule v2.0
Buy Game #2 pre Michigan at CA
11/13 v Michigan at MSG Gavitt Games
11/16-17-19 Charleston Classic
Thanksgiving Break
TBA v BC @ Barclays\
Buy Game #3 @ CA / Possible dates for these games 11/24 or 25 and 11/27 or 28
12/1 @ WVU BE/B12 Challenge
12/6 v Sacred Heart @ CA
BE Game #1 window, likely 12/9
Finals 12/11-16
12/16 v Fordham @ MSG
BE Game #2 Window, 12/20-23
Christmas Break
12/29 v Hofstra @ UBS

Fleshed this out a little more. Assuming news today is correct re Michigan. 2 slots to fill. Since Zach alluded to 3 buy games I still assume one or both will be warm up games v relative cupcakes pre Michigan based on the BE playing at least 2 BE games in December (there were four last year but given what's on the scheduled already I can't see St Johns fitting in a third nor playing on NYE again with a game against Hofstra schedule for the 29). Plus an exhibition early in November @ CA.

I think they already announced playing Fordham in MSG in early December.

So if I am understanding this and there will be 8 games scheduled for MSG it will be Fordham and 7 Conference games. Likely not to be DePaul and Butler. Probably the other five original Big East teams and two of three between Creighton, Xavier and Marquette. Time will tell.

If you count Michigan it's 6 conference and Michigan and Fordham to get to 8. There won't be any conference games at Barclay to ensure it's not seen as a home court for NCAA tourney purposes but they could throw a conference game in at UBS I imagine. Or the number at MSG could go up based on availability.

Amazing what a coach can do for my lack of AC angst and future bronx pale ale consumption. We were playing so few games there I forgot what it tastes like. Now I'll be bathing in it

One less BE game at MSG w/ Michigan in the fold. From reading tea leaves (Sammy Albano Twitter lol), 2/3 of the schools you mention would be at UBS.

If I had to make an educated guess, the Marquette game would be the one at MSG, given their success this season & relatively sized alumni base here (it is shockingly large)
