2019 NY Giants

Daniel Jones looked very good. If he starts taking care of the ball better, we may have a stud.

Beyond the defense being poor, I also noticed both tackles were having a rough time today. Nate Solder is not bad (i.e. Ereck Flowers), but he is nowhere near worth the money the Giants gave him.

Jenkins should be cut first thing tomorrow morning, and the Giants secondary coach should be fired. Nice job by the kid!
What a freaking surprise. Go Giants!
Thanks to their kicker sucking, but hey I'll take it.

Daniel: 23-36 336yrds 2TD and 0 picks 87.9 QBR. Nice nfl debut
Plus: 4 carries for 28yrds and 2TDs when was the last time we had a mobile QB?

Has some nice weapons as well: Engram 6-113 and a TD, Shepard 7-100, 1TD, even Slayton 3-82, Longest catch went for 46.
Barkley, high ankle sprain said he had that as a freshman in coll. was out for 2 weeks.

Looking at the bright side, def only gave up a FG in the 2nd half

Not good. Not good at all.Too bad their bye weeks is outside of that projection.

All things considered, IF Jones can deliver on like 75% of the promise he showed Sunday, the Giants offense should be pretty set for the future. Engram, Shep, obviously Saquon, Will Hernandez. These are good young players. Even Slayton looked pretty good in his first game.

My point is, the offense is talented enough that the front office HAS to address the defense in drafts and free agencies to come. Dexter Lawrence and Lorenzo Carter is a start. But my goodness that secondary needs to be built from the ground up. It will take some time.

I do not know if i like Gettleman, but if Jones does in fact pan out the way it looks like he might, he will probably be in Mara's good graces long enough to stick around. So it is largely on him to build this defense. We will see how it goes.

One thing is for sure, if you find your QB, everything becomes a whole lot easier. I wish I knew if the Jets have theirs, honestly I cannot tell. If you told me before the season i'd be leaning towards Daniel Jones as more of a sure thing franchise QB compared to Darnold, I would laugh in your face.

Agreed. Gettleman isnt' going anywhere.

Now for coach its un Giant like to fire another coach after 2 years. But a lot will hinge on the development of the players.

Gotta give props to the defense in the 2nd half vs. TB holding them to 3pnts, making the comeback possible. Now we need a full game from the defense and get back to 500. Skins are 0-3 so we can do this

I'm more inclined to give credit to Arians for not continuing to pick on Jenkins for some reason.

the defense hung tough, but they are just overmatched especially when going up against a WR as good as Evans. Agree the Giants can win this weekend but I wouldn't expect much from this team. The NFC is stacked with good teams a just getting a wild card this year you probably have to be 11-5 or 10-6. Best thing for the Giants is to just keep playing hard. Jones will develop and so will all these young guys on the defensive side.

Im good 8-8 this year, this want improvement. It's not a wasted season with Jones getting experience. Get a fews vets in the secondary and a few good pass rushers and things could get pretty interesting next year.
But that's all up to gentlemen

I will say, despite my apprehension with Gettleman, if Daniel Jones and Dexter Lawrence can build on their peformances on sunday, his draft class is looking pretty solid for 2019.

Jones, Lawrence, Connelly, and Slayton were all good Sunday. DeAndre Baker has been the big let down but there at least he is getting trial by fire and can improve.

And his 2018 class looks solid now a year and some change removed. Barkley, Hernandez, Lorenzo Carter are all big parts of this franchise moving forward.

The jets cannot have a good draft to save their lives, so i am inclined to be impressed by the '18 and '19 drafts for NYG

Pre-season is pre-season but Baker looked good so you would say he would be passable in regular season. Sadly he went to the other end of the spectrum.

This can't be good for Jones, expect teams to key on the passing game. Going to have to use our running game more.

Baker needs that cocky attitude that no damn body can beat him, don't play back, infact go all the way up to the line of scrimmage and tell one of the top wr in the league: Yeah I'm up in your grill son, I'm daring you to beat me, wtf you got?

You know the wr will be real heated after that play and tell the qb to throw to him, so you know the ball is coming your way so be ready for it, and pick it, then tell that wr yeah that's right I'm going to be on you all damn day baby.
Then he'll know you're not afraid.

Sorry for this but keeping it real.
They're looking at baker as their b and laughing, they know he's afraid

A Giant win 24-3, and from 0-2 to 2-2, the kid is 2-0
Last 6 quarters the Giant def has just giving up 2FGs.

Jones 23-31 225yrds 1TD 2picks
Gallman 18-63 1TD, 6-55 1TD 118 total scrimmage yrds

Giant def:
Wash 2QBs combined for 15-28 121yrds, 4picks and 3 sacks for minus 23, 28.6 QBR lol
17carries for 55yrds 3.2 per carry.

We'll see next week how far the defense has come vs Minny.

Minnesota looks straight up terrible right now against the bears. Letting backup Chase Daniel carve them up and on the other side of the ball the Vikings have no creativity on offense.

The Giants being a 3-2 football team going into that Patriots game sure would be something. No way they win that one...... but... if they did... :)

Really sucks about Connelly. Wow he was playing great especially when you consider where they got him in the draft. Oh well. Hopefully he rehabs well and gets back around this time next year.
