I think it's an easy sell job to Sedee -- just point at Owens.

Owens did nothing at Tennessee after being top 100, had a nice season after the sit year, is expected to make another leap forward this coming season, and stands to have a very good senior year given his work ethic and natural progression.

Maybe his goal is to become the greatest practice player in the combined histories of the Big East, ACC and Big10.

But you'd think someone would tap him on the shoulder and suggest transferring to a lower level, getting a scholarship and actually playing in games.

Bama is mostly likely correct. I have to imagine that there was a loophole regarding academic/athletic scholarships allocation that the NCAA would have closed years ago.

Correct. If any of the following occurred, the academic scholarship would count against the team's limit.

*A coach had in-person contact with the prospect off-campus;

*The prospect took an official visit to the campus; or

*The school sent the prospect a National Letter of Intent or other written athletic scholarship offer.

If I were him I wouldn't sit with my back to the door in any restaurants. Never know when a tall summertime transfer could sneak in to get him.

Chris Mullin will never be confused with Rhodes Scholar Bill Bradley. Both great shooters. However, if Mullin throws a kid going into his senior year who is both a great teammate and student under the bus for some unknown golem he thinks he can mold into better big man than Amar, then I would question his basketball coaching intellect. He better be working on learning the ABCs of coaching defense rather than screwing a kid out of a hard earned scholarship.
